Lincoln Nautilus Semifinalist For 2025 Car Of The Year Award

The all-new, redesigned 2024 Lincoln Nautilus has been nothing short of a hit among consumers and critics alike since it launched a few months ago, and it has helped attract a new, younger customer to the brand as well, thanks largely to its cutting-edge tech. This is obviously critical for Lincoln as it looks to right the financial ship, but in the meantime, the revamped Lincoln Nautilus continues to garner accolades – as well as get nominated for one rather prestigious honor.

That honor is the 2025 North American Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle of the Year (NACTOY) awards, as this year’s list of 25 semifinalist vehicles has just been announced. Of that group, 10 are competing for 2025 North American Utility of the Year – the Lincoln Nautilus is joined by the Chevrolet Equinox EV, Honda Prologue, Volvo EX90, Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, Hyundai Santa Fe, Jeep Wagoneer S, Porsche Macan EV, Toyota Land Cruiser, and VW ID. Buzz.

Each year, the NACTOY awards recognize the best new vehicles on the market, based on a variety of factors including innovation, design, safety, performance, technology, user experience, driver satisfaction, and value. To determine the winners, an independent jury of 50 automotive journalists from the U.S. and Canada will evaluate each model and provide their own feedback on those areas. Jurors are set to complete this process in October, and they’ll narrow the list down to three finalists in each category on November 21st, 2024, after which the winners will be announced at the Detroit Auto Show on January 10th, 2025.

“We have a great variety of vehicles on the list, from the sporty to the family sedan,” said Jeff Gilbert, NACTOY president and the automotive reporter for WWJ News Radio 950. “This list is an example of the great products that the auto industry is producing, from cutting edge electric vehicles to traditional gasoline powered cars and trucks, but also hybrids, which are a growing share of the market.”

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

Ha! Jeep Wagoneer S is not even in production, and recent statements from Stellantis indicate it may never be produced. Overall, a pretty suspect list, imho.

If this Lincoln were a hybrid, it would win easily. But it isn”t. I believe the new Chevy Equinox EV will be the winner.

Sorry not buying a car made in China to support that government and their auto industry just so it can dump their cars here. As it is too many car parts used in manufacturing are sources there. We will regret that eventually. Pursuit of profit at all costs for Ford.
