There was a time – not terribly long ago – when Lincoln planned to add multiple all-electric vehicle options to its lineup, but amid a slowdown in demand growth, Ford’s luxury arm ultimately chose to ditch those plans altogether. At the moment, it’s unclear what the future Lincoln lineup will look like for the most part, though it seems as if it’s slated to gain a pair of new models in the near future, according to a new report.
This info comes to us via Automotive News, which reports that during a recent meeting with dealers, Lincoln revealed that it would be adding two new models to its lineup in the coming years. It’s unclear if those models will consist of brand new nameplates or simply derivatives of existing ones, however.
What we do know for sure is that FoMoCo recently announced that it had canceled plans to build two new all-electric three-row crossovers – long rumored to be EV versions of the Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator – which were slated to be built at the Oakville Assembly plant beginning in 2025. Those models will be replaced by a pair of hybrids, however, while the brand’s other three-row utility – the Lincoln Navigator – is slated to get a hybrid powertrain at some point in the future as well, though the refreshed 2025 Navigator just debuted without one.
It’s also possible that Lincoln will add a production version of the all-electric Star concept to its lineup, as that model entered the integrated prototype testing phase back in late 2022. However, as Ford Authority previously reported, the luxury brand isn’t currently focused on all-electric vehicles, and it also chose to ditch its EV dealer sales program this past January as well.
We’ll have more on these future Lincoln models soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Lincoln news and 24/7 Ford news coverage.
And Bathurst is the place to do it.
A way to prevent theft or unwanted use.
With Ryan Blaney and Austin Cindric on top.
Led by F-150 range and bolstered by Maverick again.
A nice complement to Ford's array of carbon fiber goodies.
And it's owned by a former Ford engineer.

If those new models are going to be more boring SUV´s or crossovers like the rest of Lincoln´s lineup, then they are useless. Lincoln is way behind it´s competitors and way behind of what a luxury car brand should be. Lincoln is nowadays nothing more than a vulgar joke of what it once was. If Lincoln is going to continue this way, then Lincoln should follow Mercury or GM´s Pontiac and Oldsmobile brands fate. Better that, than continue watching Lincoln be a shame among luxury car brands.
These comments are delusional.
Lincoln is not "way behind its competitors." It is not "way behind what a luxury car brand would be." It is not "nothing more than a vulgar joke of what it once was." Where are you GETTING this stuff -- and what are you basing this on?
If you want a sedan, just say so. What's useless is your entire post.
So true Rich. I love my MKZ.
A Lincoln sedan with an emphasis on performance and sport mode to compete with BMW, MERCEDES and Cadiallic is
Would love to see it. However, the market is minuscule. Lincoln tried with the Continental, but not enough buyers.
So why is Ford going to build the Mustang sedan? That should be the proper Lincoln LS not a mustang. Lincoln can't have a proper LS because that will take sales away from the Mustang sedan. That's the problem with Lincoln. The brand can't have something better than the related Ford version. Yes, a long wheelbase S650 Continental with a v-8 would be the best thing that ever happened but it's not so I move on to another brand that will give me what I want. Ford's loss is a competitor's gain. Is that a Win-Win? Perhaps.
I am interest in purchasing a Lincoln Corsair in 2025 but not if they are going to discontinue this model as they previously indicated. You would think that Ford would be very clear in direction of their lineup as this type of uncertainty leads to decreased sales.
We recently bought a 24 model Corsair and absolutely love the car. I wouldn't let it ending be a barrier to buying one. We ordered ours and it took 3 months to get it and got the gas version.
Lincoln needs to offer new SUV’s and a sedan that have a PHEV option that provides 50 to 80 EV miles.
Agree. However, that technology doesn't seem to exist. Most people work 25 miles or less from home, so anyone who can build a PHEV with 50 miles of EV range, at a reasonable price, will have a gold mine.
I would love to see Lincoln come out with a higher end luxury sedan based on the Ford Mustang platform; RWD based, V6 & V8 options, & with the newest designs of the Nautilus & Navigator. Also, would be unique to get a Lincoln version of the Ford Bronco similar to the Mercedes G Wagon but more affordable. It would be somewhat niche, but an interesting product.
Cadillac is eating Lincoln's lunch by ditching all sedans. Just look at their sales numbers, Ford! I won't make a selection from a fleet of lookalike SUV's. Additionally, few Lincoln dealerships exist anywhere near me. It's almost like Ford is trying to kill off the Lincoln. Bring back the MKZ, specifically the hybrid. Build the Chinese Zephyr here. Otherwise, I will keep my 2015 MKZ hybrid until it dies and then I will buy a Cadillac.
I guess I'm not seeing this lunch eating.
These are all 2024 YTD.
In the markets that the two compete in directly, Lincoln seems to be holding it's own vs Caddy.
Corsair 12,849 . . . XT4 10,033 . . . (-2816)
Nautilus 17,504 . . . XT5 12,165 . . . (-5339)
Aviator 11,914 . . . XT6 9,045 . . . (-2869)
Navigator 6,550 . . . Escalade 19,204 . . . (+12,654)
Cadillac is killing the CT4 and CT5 in the near future and retooling the Lansing assembly plant. If you want a sedan you need to look to the Germans or Japanese.
I planned to buy a refreshed Aviator GT and they discontinued the GT (PHEV). Ended up with a 24 nautilus and love it other than the 4 cylinder. I would love a V6 nautilus to Aviator sized full or plugin hybrid!
Lincoln desperately needs Sedans and a Large Coupe again. I would Love it if Lincoln were to bring back the Continental and Town Car as well as the Mark VIII. The Continental should be a Mid-Size Luxury Sedan and the Town Car a Full-Size Executive Flagship Luxury Sedan. The Mark VIII should be a Large Personal Luxury Coupe like it Always was. These three vehicles should compete with GMs Luxury brands Cadillac and Buick as well as with the European car brands Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz including the Asian Luxury brands Genesis and Lexus. Without Sedans and Coupes Lincoln is boring and redundant. The New Lincoln’s look Amazing especially the interiors but Ford needs to bring some exciting new products to Lincoln and get people back into the showrooms and interested in the brand again. Lincoln is like Buick. It’s currently an All SUV brand and offers very little product. Sedans and Coupes will make Lincoln relevant, interesting and profitable again. It’s sad what Lincoln has become. I remember when Lincoln was the second best selling American Luxury car brand to Cadillac being number one. Cadillac and Lincoln Always competed with each other along with Buick and Chrysler.
