M-Sport Ford Excited For 2024 Rally Chile

The 2024 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) season has produced some mixed results for the M-Sport Ford team, though it has secured several podium finishes along the way and remains in the points hunt. In fact, M-Sport Ford locked in its third straight podium finish and a successful debut for the non-hybrid Puma Rally1 at Rally Poland in early July, but that streak came to an end at Rally Latvia a few weeks later amid mechanical issues, which continued into Acropolis Rally Greece. Regardless, M-Sport Ford is now looking ahead to Rally Chile following a bit of a break.

Round 11 of the 2024 FIA WRC season will take place in South America at the Rally Chile Bio Bío on September 26th-29th, which also happens to be the final gravel event of the year – one that’s typically a bit complicated due to its technical forest stages, high altitudes, and weather conditions that typically bring forth sporadic, heavy rain showers. Adrien Fourmaux and Grégoire Munster will be joined by Mārtiņš Sesks and co-driver Renārs Francis this time around – who will be behind the wheel of a non-hybrid Ford Puma Rally1, as was the case in Poland – as well as fellow drivers Grégoire Munster and Louis Louka.

“I’m really excited to be heading back to South America for Rally Chile, especially since we are fielding three Rally1 cars there,” said M-Sport Ford Team Principal Richard Millener. “I’m pleased to have Mārtiņš back with us in the non-hybrid Puma, his performances earlier this season have really made him stand out and I’m looking forward to seeing what he makes of this opportunity. “Grégoire will benefit from last year’s experience here, and with more time in the car since then he should feel quite comfortable. Hopefully he can hunt for a good result next week after a tricky weekend in Greece.”

“Adrien and Alex will be taking on this event for the first time but I strongly believe they are up to the task! They’ve proven their pace on gravel with four podiums on loose surfaces already this season, notably in Finland. I’m excited to see what they can do here.”

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
