The Cup Series Playoff opener will take place at Atlanta on September 8th, 2024. Six NASCAR Ford drivers made the Playoffs cut while the rest were shut out, but that doesn’t mean they can’t win this weekend’s race. Sports betting fans may want to take a closer look at The Blue Oval stable – although some are serious longshots in the field.
According to the betting odds from NASCAR.com, Cody Ware is the riskiest bet in the field with odds of 300-1 to bring the No. 51 Ford Mustang Dark Horse to Victory Lane this weekend. Ryan Preece, meanwhile, is still a longshot, but he’s given odds of 70-1 to win in his No. 41 Mustang, but is slightly outranked by Justin Haley, whose No. 51 Mustang has 65-1 odds of winning. Noah Gragson also has slightly better odds at 60-1 to win in the No. 10 Mustang.
Harrison Burton, driver of the No. 21 Mustang, won at Daytona and has success at superspeedway-style races and is given 55-1 odds of winning this weekend as well. Josh Berry’s No. 4 Mustang is favored at 50-1 odds, while Todd Gilliland’s No. 38 Mustang is favored at 40-1.
Chase Briscoe, the Cup Series’ most recent victor, has 35-1 odds of winning at Atlanta in the No. 14 NASCAR Ford. Michael McDowell, though out of the Playoffs, has decent odds of 22-1 to put his No. 34 Mustang across the line first, followed by Austin Cindric’s odds of 18-1 in the No. 2 Mustang.
Chris Buescher, meanwhile, is also shut out of the Playoffs, but he’s still been quietly consistent all year and has 14-1 odds of winning at Atlanta in his No. 14 Mustang. Brad Keselowski is still on a hot streak with 11-1 odds of winning in the No. 6 Mustang, while Joey Logano’s No. 22 NASCAR Ford is also a good bet with odds of 10-1.
The best odds in the Cup Series field fall in Ryan Blaney’s favor. His No. 12 Mustang lost out in a three-wide photo finish at the last race at Atlanta, but he certainly knows how to navigate Atlanta, and is currently favored at 10-1 odds to win.
