No. 38 NASCAR Ford F-150 Puts On Clinic At Bristol: Video

Layne Riggs led the charge at Bristol Motor Speedway on September 19^th, 2024, winning his second straight Playoff race in the No. 38 NASCAR Ford F-150 – even though he’s not championship eligible.

Riggs didn’t make the cut for the 2024 Playoffs, but that didn’t put a stop to his dominating performance on Thursday night. He guided the No. 38 F-150 to victory at the Milwaukee Mile just a few weeks ago, earning his first-ever win in the division (and celebrating so hard that he dislocated his shoulder!), but unfortunately, his victories came too late to secure him a Playoff slot. Even so, he was more than thrilled to take home another trophy, even though it did sting a little bit.

“Oh, my gosh, we’ve just learned so much with the trucks,” Riggs said after the race. “My team, Dylan (Cappello), he’s bad-ass… To be running fifth, 10^th and all of a sudden to go back-to-back in the Playoffs – man, I wish I was in the Playoffs so bad. I think we’d be a real threat to win the championship.”

Riggs made the winning pass on Lap 121 of 200, demoting the No. 11 Toyota TRD Tundra of Corey Heim on his way to the win.

Meanwhile, the No. 99 NASCAR Ford of Ben Rhodes, defending series champion, finished two laps down and was credited with a 27^th-place finish. He fell to 10^th in the standings, putting him in danger of being eliminated from the Playoffs.

Matt Crafton, driver of the No. 88 F-150, and Ty Majeski, driver of the No. 98 F-150, were the only other Blue Oval racers to finish inside the top 10. They finished sixth and eighth, respectively.
