No. 98 NASCAR Ford F-150 Runs Out Of Gas At Kansas: Video

Heartbreak was the name of the game for the No. 98 NASCAR Ford F-150 team at Kansas Speedway on September 27^th, 2024. While leading on the last lap, the fuel tank in Majeski’s race truck ran dry, and there was nothing he could do but coast along and watch as the field freight-trained right past him.

During the third – and last – caution of the night on Lap 78 of 134, Majeski pulled his No. 98 NASCAR Ford onto Pit Road to the attention of his crew for four tires and fuel, but that ended up being his final stop of the race. Majeski, who won Stage 1, had to settle for a disappointing 15^th-place finish while Corey Heim’s No. 11 Toyota TRD Tundra cruised around him to win.

It wasn’t all doom and gloom for The Blue Oval, though. Layne Riggs, driver of the No. 38 F-150, pulled off a runner-up finish, although he was the sole NASCAR Ford driver who crossed the line inside the top 10. However, one F-150 racer won’t make an appearance in the next round of the Playoffs. Ben Rhodes, driver of the No. 99 F-150, finished 22^nd, and his performance across the last three races wasn’t good enough to save him from elimination.

“We qualified fourth, and at the start of the race – massive changes with the truck,” said Rhodes, who won’t get the chance to defend his 2022 and 2023 Truck Series titles. “We could not get it tightened up… Still kind of unacceptable. If we’d have gotten our stage points, it would have taken care of itself.”

That leaves Majeski as the sole NASCAR Ford driver still in contention for the 2024 championship.
