Steeda S650 Ford Mustang V8 Cold Air Intakes Revealed

Steeda is one of the older and more established makers and sellers of performance Ford Mustang parts, having originated back during the Fox Body generation. Not much has changed in the years since, and Steeda has rolled out a bevy of upgrades for the all-new S650 generation 2024 Ford Mustang over the past few months, too. Now, that list has expanded yet again, this time, to include a new cold-air intake for the 2024 Ford Mustang GT and Dark Horse.

Steeda's new ProFlow cold-air intake for the 2024 Ford Mustang GT and Dark Horse.

Steeda just launched the new ProFlow cold-air intake for these 5.0L V8 Coyote powered models, which is designed to provide that powerplant with more air flow than the stock setup. Steeda’s new intake utilizes a large CNC-machined billet mass air meter and custom-molded four-ply silicon intake tubes to achieve this, which are 25 percent larger, starting at 4.75 inches and necking down to 95mm to optimize air velocity and support future throttle body upgrades as well.

The Steeda ProFlow cold-air intake utilizes oiled air filters to reduce restriction, along with 6061-billet aluminum mass air meters that are CNC-machined in-house. The setup can also be configured to work with the factory airbox lids, or they can be removed for an open-air setup. No tune is required for those that install this new intake, and in stock form, it delivers an extra 13 horsepower and 11.4-pound-feet of torque – though more can be unlocked with a custom calibration.

2024 Ford Mustang GT, Dark Horse Steeda ProFlow Cold Air Intake 003

The is just the latest fruit to come from Steeda’s own developmental efforts, as the outfit just purchased its very own Dark Horse for those purposes this past May. Prior to that, Steeda had already offered customers a bevy of S550-generation Ford Mustang parts to choose from, but along with this new ProFlow cold-air intake, it also offers an array of S650 upgrades including ProFlow air filters, a GT500 style rear spoiler, and a set of spherical bearings for the rear lower control arms.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

I call that hot air induction when its set up in the engine compartment. Never believe that sucking in hot engine air is the best way to go. When the OEM setup is routed to the outside cool air.
