Two 2025 Ford Escape Trims Drop Standard 360 Degree Camera

Coming off a refresh for the 2023 model year, the Ford Escape hasn’t really experienced any major changes since then, though the small crossover is getting a number of interesting updates for 2025, as Ford Authority has reported over the past few weeks. Many of those updates are deletions of some sort, and that list has now expanded to include another, it seems, that 2025 Ford Escape shoppers will want to be aware of.

2023 Ford Escape

The 2025 Ford Escape ST-Line Elite and Platinum no longer come with the 360-degree camera as standard equipment, and instead, is now available as part of the Premium Technology Package, which costs $1,910 extra. That package also includes a variety of other features including front parking sensors, Reverse Brake Assist, the Bang & Olufsen 10-speaker B&O sound system, HD Radio, the head-up display, and ActiveX seating.

The 2025 Ford Escape has lost quite a few additional previously-standard features, including the Cold Weather Package for the all-wheel drive Active, ST-Line Active, and ST-Line trims. The 2025 Ford Escape Active has also lost its previously-standard eight-way power driver’s seat, replacing it with a six-way manual seat. The ST-Line is losing its aluminum foot pedals that were previously standard on all three ST-Line trims, while the ST-Line Elite and Platinum are ditching the previously-standard ambient lighting. For 2025, the ST-Line and ST-Line Select are ditching their monochromatic painted exterior parts in favor of molded-in-color components. ActiveX seating has replaced leather in the ST-Line Elite with the Premium Technology Package, as well as the PHEV model when equipped with the Premium Package, too.

The 2025 Ford Escape has also ditched its spare tire in non-hybrid models, which has been replaced by the Tire Inflator and Sealant Kit, though a spare is still available as an option for pure ICE models. Finally, rain-sensing wipers are no longer standard on the ST-Line Elite and Platinum trims, too. As far as exterior colors go, Space Silver Metallic has been added as a no-cost option for all trims, though Iconic Silver Metallic and Race Red have also been deleted. However, the good news is, the 2025 Ford Escape lineup has been treated to price cuts across the board, at least.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

Wow Ford is trying to get as much money out of their customers as they can. Taking away these standard options, the 360-camera is a nice safety feature to have that so many other companies off as a standard option.

They will be losing a lot of customers because they are taking away things that should be standard on a vehicle and make you pay for them.

Great job Ford….keep taking away things and making your vehicles even more expensive.

There HAS to be a reason why Ford is withholding the Order Guide for the ’25. The one for the ’25 Corsair was released months ago. So, I’m not ready to believe ANYTHING about the ’25 Escape just yet.

I bet it just hasn’t been leaked yet. Head over to the Blue Oval forums and ask ice-capades. He usually has some sources to get at that info.

This is death by a thousand cuts. They are slowly killing this vehicle off.

This is the last year of production for the 2025 Escape for North America.
this shouldn’t come as news to anyone, FORD has always stated Escape would die in N.A. with the 2025 model year.
Stripping it out of all the previous features will only continue to drive customers to the competition.

I suspect most who get the Platinum or Elite trims already pay Xtra for the tech package, so this probably won’t affect many people.
If they want to save a few nickels, why not get rid of the Heads up Display? That thing is pointless. I only activate it when I want to impress friends.

Agreed. The HUD is stupid in the Escape. I bet the motor on that thing will break how it auto-raises and lowers all the time. Put a real one in like the Corsair has.
