11-Year Old Crashes Mom’s Ford Explorer Into Semi: Video

Over the years, we’ve certainly seen our fair share of wild crashes involving all sorts of Blue Oval models, which typically occur with someone of legal driving age behind the wheel. However, every once in a while, an angry or just curious youth winds up in this kind of predicament. A few years ago, we saw this happen with a kid that accidentally smashed his father’s Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R through their garage wall, and now, we’re seeing it yet again in the form of a youth that made off in his mom’s Ford Explorer with even more disastrous results.

An 11-year-old stole his mom's Ford Explorer and crashed it.

According to Your Central Valley, an 11-year-old that lives in Fresno, California, took the keys to his mother’s Ford Explorer and proceeded to drive off, taking a bit of a joy ride, it seems. As one might imagine, that little test drive didn’t go terribly well, and the youth wound up crashing into a semi truck, which brought that particular excursion to an impromptu end.

The Fresno Police Department received word of the crash, which took place at 6am at the intersection of Valentine Avenue and Holland Avenue, but when they arrived, they found a rather unusual scene, given the fact that the young boy was behind the wheel of the Ford Explorer. Luckily for everyone, no injuries occurred as a result of this crash, and police were able to contact the kid’s parents – who we imagine weren’t happy with his antics, to say the least.

The young boy was released into the custody of his parents, at least, but it’s unclear what, if any, sort of trouble they’ll face now. At the very least, they’ve got a busted-up vehicle and most likely a large insurance claim to deal with, all because their kid decided it was a good idea to go for an early morning drive.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
