Gone but certainly not forgotten, the Ford Focus RS still holds a special place in the hearts of enthusiasts across the globe, many of whom are big fans of hot hatches in general. These days, that type of vehicle is seemingly on life support across the entire industry, and soon, the Ford Focus on which the high-performance variant was based will head to the proverbial graveyard as well, once production ends in Europe next year. Regardless, there are loads of nice, lower-mile Ford Focus RS models available on the collector car circuit, and that now includes this stellar 2018 Limited Edition variant.
This special 2018 Ford Focus RS is currently up for auction at Bring a Trailer with just 17k miles on the clock, and it’s one of just 1,000 Limited Edition variants produced for the U.S. market, too. The seller is the original and only owner to date, and they’ve clearly cared for it over those years, as there are no flaws on the outside – save for a scratch that was repaired on the left rear quarter panel some time ago. Otherwise, the Race Red paint looks to be in perfect shape, and was one of two exterior color options available for the Ford Focus RS Limited Edition models along with Nitrous Blue, though all of them came equipped with a black roof, rear wing, and mirror caps.
Inside the cabin, one will find Charcoal Black leather Recaro front seats with Miko Dinamica microsuede inserts, dual-zone automatic climate control, carbon-fiber trim, SYNC infotainment with navigation, plus a throttle pedal spacer, SRP Racing pedal covers, a Blackvue dash camera, WeatherTech floor mats, a wireless Apple CarPlay adapter, a Gentex rearview mirror with Homelink and an integrated compass, and a wireless charging mat. Power comes from the turbocharged 2.3L I-4 EcoBoost engine, which has been treated to a Mountune Focus RS M380 Performance Upgrade kit and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox driving all four wheels via a torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system.
This is one of many Ford Focus RS models we’ve seen surface for sale in recent months, a list that includes everything from a 1k-mile 2016 model to another from the same model year with 500 miles, plus a third with 71 miles that’s the only U.S. market example finished in Magnetic Metallic.

Real shame Ford decided to kill all of its cars. The Mk3 RS/ST were absolute gems and sold very well.
The hot-hatch market is underserved, look at the crazy markups on the Civic Type R, GR Corolla, and Golf R. Even if they were hell bent on ending sales and production of the Fiesta/Focus in the US. Ford could have kept selling the Mk4 Focus ST and Mk7/8 Fiesta ST in the US and they would have flown out the door.
VW found its way to keep selling the GTI and Golf R in the US even after it stopped selling the base Golf. They’ve been doing it for years, so they clearly make a profit. Don’t tell me Ford couldn’t have homologated and sold the ST versions only even if they made it in Europe and shipped it here. They did for the RS, which were all made in Germany.
Damn shame Ford killed the RS and ST in the states. Told an entire loyal customer base to get lost. They aren’t moving to the Mustang, they’re buying Civic Si/Rs and WRXs.
How about an inexpensive single cab mini truck with economical engine?
