1992 Ford Taurus GL With 48K Miles Up For Auction

Once one of the most popular sedans on the planet, the Ford Taurus may have been discontinued years ago – along with every other four-door car in FoMoCo’s lineup – but it has recently become a hot item on the collector car auction circuit. There, we’ve seen countless low-mile Ford Taurus models in excellent condition surface for sale, and in some cases, hammer for eyebrow-raising amounts of money. Now, this 1992 Ford Taurus GL is looking to join that group, as it’s up for grabs right now

This 1992 Ford Taurus is listed for auction at Bring a Trailer with just 48k miles on the odometer, and it remained the original owner’s possession until 2019. The silver exterior certainly doesn’t look like it’s been abused in any manner, though some parts of the paint are faded, with a couple of blemishes here and there. Otherwise, it’s in excellent condition on the outside, and complete with the original wheels, to boot.

The same is true of the interior, where one will find a sea of red covering the cloth seats and pretty much every other surface. There are plenty of amenities as well, including a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a cassette stereo, air conditioning, cruise control, and power windows and door locks. Save for a little wear on the sun visor mirror cover, there really aren’t any flaws to note here, either. In terms of motivation, that comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 3.0L V6, which is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission, sending power to the front wheels.

Among the many Ford Taurus models we’ve seen pop up for sale at auction with few miles as of late, this 1992 GL joins a pair of super clean wagons – a 1992 LX with just 32k miles on the clock, as well as a 1993 GL wagon, which had a mere 49k miles showing on the odometer when it surfaced for sale.

  1. Not bad, it’s got the right engine, just the wrong color combo for my tastes. Love the floor shift. I have a 1995 with floor shift and I love the car, refuse to get rid of it. It’s still going strong.
