It certainly may not seem like a classic, collectible vehicle at this point in time, but in reality, we’re starting to see more and more Ford Mustang models from the S197 generation popping up for sale with scant few miles the clock. While those pony cars may not be that old, many prefer the retro look of the S197 over its predecessors, and it’s hard to blame them there – especially since these cars are still relatively simple and not laden with quite as much tech, either. Now, yet another nice, lower-mile Ford Mustang from this era has surfaced for sale, too.
That well-kept pony car is this 2005 Ford Mustang GT convertible, which is up for auction at Bring a Trailer with a mere 25k miles on the clock. This is actually the second go-round for this Ford Mustang on BaT, as it was previously listed in April of 2024, but failed to meet its reserve price with a high bid of $16,651. Now, the seller is giving it another go, so it’ll be interesting to see what happens this time around. Regardless, this is a nice example of an S197 with virtually flawless Satin Silver Metallic paint, and it’s unmodified, to boot.
Inside the cabin, one will find Dark Charcoal leather seats, plus amenities including a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, air conditioning, and a six-disc CD changer that’s mated to the Shaker 500 sound system. Power comes from the naturally-aspirated 4.6L V8, which was factory rated to generate 300 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission in this case.
Of course, this is just the latest S197 generation Ford Mustang we’ve seen surface for sale lately with few miles on the odometer. That list also includes a 2005 GT coupe with just 1,200 original miles, another 2005 GT coupe with 40k miles, and a 2007 GT with 20k miles.
