Today, the Ford Explorer Sport Trac is a pretty interesting footnote in automotive history, but there are still plenty of folks out there that love the quirky SUV/pickup mashup. However, those looking for a nice, lower-mile example of the discontinued Ford Explorer Sport Trac don’t exactly have a lot to choose from, as we’ve only seen a small handful of nice, low-mile examples pop up for sale recently. However, that list is slowly starting to expand, and now, it includes this ultra-low-mile 2008 Ford Explorer Sport Trac that’s currently up for auction.
This 2008 Ford Explorer Sport Trac is listed for sale at Bring a Trailer with a mere 9k miles on the odometer, which is a startlingly low sum for a vehicle of this vintage. It remained in the possession of the original owner until it was acquired by the seller this year, and now, it’s looking for a new home as perhaps the nicest Sport Trac available at the moment. Finished in Dark Cherry Clearcoat, the pickup’s paint is in good condition overall, with just a few chips present around the driver’s side door handle worth noting.
Inside the cabin, one will find black and white cloth covered seats, along with amenities such as air conditioning, cruise control, power-adjustable pedals, and the factory AM/FM/CD stereo, plus power windows, door locks, and mirrors. Power comes from the naturally-aspirated 4.6L V8, which in this guise was factory-rated to send 292 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.
It certainly isn’t every day that we see a nice Ford Explorer Sport Trac surface for sale, but there have been a couple that have emerged as of late. That includes another 2008 model that popped up for sale this past July with 57k miles on the clock, as well as a 2010 Sport Trac with 38k miles.

I always wanted one back then but the time for that type of vehicle has passed.
