2016 Ford Super Duty Excursion Conversion Up For Auction

The Ford Excursion was discontinued back in 2005, which was unfortunate for people who are looking for a full-size SUV that has enough room not only for large/blended families, but also, the ability to tow incredibly heavy loads as well. These days, no automaker sells anything like the Excursion, which was basically an SUV version of the Ford Super Duty, either. However, there are a handful of aftermarket companies churning out modern day Ford Super Duty Excursion conversions, and this rather nice 2016 model is now up for grabs on the second-hand market.

This interesting 2016 Ford Super Duty Excursion just hit the auction block at Bring a Trailer, and it started life as a King Ranch Crew Cab pickup, but has since been transformed into a three-row SUV. The conversion was actually completed by grafting the rear portion of an Excursion onto a Super Duty, after which the (now) SUV was resprayed in black paint, and fitted with Road Armor bumpers, Rigid LED auxiliary lighting, Power Step running boards, a lifted suspension with Fox shocks and dual Bilstein steering stabilizers, and a set of 20-inch Fuel Off-Road wheels wrapped with Nitto Recon Grappler A/T tires.

Inside the cabin, one will find the familiar King Ranch treatment covering the front bucket seats, second-row captain’s chairs, and a third-row bench seat, along with an aftermarket touchscreen stereo and a flip-down rear entertainment system. Power comes from the turbocharged 6.7L V8 Power Stroke diesel, which in the guise was factory-rated to generate 440 horsepower and 860 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

It’s been roughly two years since we’ve seen a similar Ford Super Duty Excursion build surface at auction, but there are some companies that offer something similar, even brand new. In fact, a company called Megarexx also sells what it calls the SVN, which is a brand new Super Duty with a whopping four rows of seating and room for nine people, too.

  1. I bought my 2004 Excursion Limited in June of 2004 and it now has 3009000 miles on and I would drive it anywhere in the contry today, it still has the original steering parts, ujoints rear axle bearings, transmission. It also will get 20 mpg or better if I keep the speed in the 65-70mph range. I do not plan on se;;ing or trading down for any of these little nothings on the road today
