2024 Ford Mustang Recalled Over Instrument Cluster Issue

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2024 Ford Mustang models over an issue with the instrument cluster.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) may not illuminate at startup or while driving. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 101, “Control and Displays” and 102, “Transmission shift lever sequence, starter interlock, and transmission braking effect.”

The hazards: an instrument panel display that does not show critical information, such as warning lights or vehicle speed, increases the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any reports of accident or injury related to this condition.

Components: instrument panel cluster

Affected vehicles: select 2024 Ford Mustang models produced at the Flat Rock Assembly plant between May 10th, 2024, and August 20th, 2024.

Number of affected vehicles: 6,212

The fix: dealers will update the instrument panel cluster software, free of charge.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on November 11th, 2024. The Ford reference number for this recall is 24C35.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  4. Not sure if I am facing similar issues but I got my car in May, the issues I face are as follows:

1- screen boot, some items when I start my car the center screen simply doesn’t work it takes over a minute to boot up again, really annoying

2- lag/glitch, there are times if I was to listen to a podcast, video, or music, the screen kinda lags and in turn glitches, sound system also gitters or lags (there is a name to it but forgot)

3- Apple car play -Google maps, not sure if it’s also in android but whenever I use Google maps and at the same time play a song or a video, it Lagos a lot, the map itself doesn’t work sometimes, the sound system makes static noises and there are times where only the right speaker operates, I have to unplug and the plug my phone again to work

I hope these issues are included in the patch, other than the issues I have mentioned, the car is amazing, mind you I have went to my dealer numerous times (I am from a different country) and they always tell me that they haven’t found any issues with the screen, they couldn’t find errors, and they don’t have any updates form Ford, they also contacted them about it
