2025 Ford Bronco Adds Standard Electric Brake Booster

Though it has yet to undergo a mid-cycle refresh or full-blown redesign, the sixth-generation Ford Bronco has been treated to a host of updates with each passing model year since it launched in 2021. That will continue to be the case with the 2025 Ford Bronco, which has received a rather surprisingly large number of updates for the new model year, ranging from a trim level lineup reshuffling to the debut of a pair of new retro-focused variants to a host of other, more minor changes. The latest pertains specifically to 2025 Ford Bronco models equipped with the turbocharged 2.3L I-4 EcoBoost engine, however.

According to Bronco Nation, those I-4 powered 2025 Ford Bronco models will now come standard with Electric Brake Boost, which was previously included only on SUVs equipped with the twin turbocharged 2.7L V6 EcoBoost. It’s unclear why Ford made this change, but what we do know is that four-cylinder models previously came with a vacuum brake boost setup, but that will no longer be the case moving forward. On top of this update, the two-door Badlands is no longer available with the 2.7L V6 EcoBoost engine – only the turbocharged 2.3L I-4 EcoBoost.

Aside from this change, the entire 2025 Ford Bronco lineup is getting ambient footwell lighting as standard equipment, while the heated steering wheel is included as standard on the Outer Banks, Badlands, and Raptor trims. Meanwhile, a trim level lineup reshuffling includes the deletion of the Wildtrak, Everglades, Heritage Limited, and Black Diamond series, though the latter moniker is now being used as the name for a newly optional package. The Bronco Base is making a comeback after being absent for one model year, and the new Stroppe Edition is effectively taking the place of the Wildtrak, while the retro-themed Free Wheeling Package is also making its debut.

As for the rest of the lineup, the 12-inch digital gauge cluster is now included as standard equipment, the Bronco Badlands has gained the HOSS 3.0 suspension as an option, and the FITS system present in the Ford Maverick is now available, too. In four-door models equipped with the 10-speed automatic transmission, the rear HVAC vents have moved from the floor to the rear portion of the center console, though much of the lineup has lost its grab handles and the entire range has ditched the wireless charging pad. Finally, the 2025 Ford Bronco Raptor is adding three new exterior color options, but is also losing a total of six.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
