2025 Ford Bronco Badlands Two Door Drops 2.7L V6 EcoBoost

Though it has yet to receive a mid-cycle refresh, the sixth-generation Ford Bronco is entering the 2025 model year sporting a rather long list of updates – in some cases, notable and/or significant ones. This includes the typical exterior color changes and addition/deletion of certain features, but also, a pretty big trim level lineup revamp and the debut of a pair of new variants. That list isn’t complete just yet, however, and includes the deletion of a specific powerplant for one trim and configuration, too.

That change pertains specifically to the two-door 2025 Ford Bronco Badlands, which is no longer available with the twin turbocharged 2.7L V6 EcoBoost engine, according to Bronco Nation. While that powerplant is still available in the four-door Badlands model, those that want a two-door are stuck with the turbocharged 2.3L I-4 EcoBoost, which can be mated to the 10-speed automatic transmission or seven-speed manual gearbox.

Aside from this change, the entire 2025 Ford Bronco lineup is getting ambient footwell lighting as standard equipment, while the heated steering wheel is included as standard on the Outer Banks, Badlands, and Raptor trims. Meanwhile, a trim level lineup reshuffling includes the deletion of the Wildtrak, Everglades, Heritage Limited, and Black Diamond series, though the latter moniker is now being used as the name for a newly optional package. The Bronco Base is making a comeback after being absent for one model year, and the new Stroppe Edition is effectively taking the place of the Wildtrak, while the retro-themed Free Wheeling Package is also making its debut.

As for the rest of the lineup, the 12-inch digital gauge cluster is now included as standard equipment, the Bronco Badlands has gained the HOSS 3.0 suspension as an option, and the FITS system present in the Ford Maverick is now available, too. In four-door models equipped with the 10-speed automatic transmission, the rear HVAC vents have moved from the floor to the rear portion of the center console, though much of the lineup has lost its grab handles and the entire range has ditched the wireless charging pad. Finally, the 2025 Ford Bronco Raptor is adding three new exterior color options, but is also losing a total of six.

  1. There is so much wrong with what Ford did for the 2025 Bronco, it’s absolutely insane. I can tell they have a bunch of over educated, no logic, no common sense, heartless people working for them. I could have made the 2025 a much better Bronco and it could have been kept the same price and have more premium features. There is still too many trims. and allot of good items that were left off the build sheets for each trim left. Ford needs to do better.

  2. I like the new changes. I like changes, period. Never stay the same. Change, sells. Nothing like a new model.

  3. This is just a joke drop the nicer engine make you have to deal with the slow engine in a higher trim model. Ford has really lost it to top it off they gave the CEO raise for do nothing.
