As is customary, the debut of the 2025 Ford Expedition earlier this month didn’t include any sort of pricing information, and in fact, left out quite a few details about the all-new SUV. Now that the model’s build and price configurator has launched, we’re able to fill in some of those gaps, however, and that includes pricing information, which shows us that the 2025 Ford Expedition is more expensive than the outgoing model, as expected.
2025 Ford Expedition | 2024 Ford Expedition | + / – 2025 Price | |
---|---|---|---|
XL STX | N/A | $55,630 | N/A |
Active (XLT) | $61,700 | $59,635 | +$2065 |
Platinum (Limited) | $74,430 | $68,515 | +$5915 |
Tremor (Timberline) | $81,030 | $71,805 | +$9225 |
King Ranch | $83,655 | $78,570 | +$5085 |
2024 Platinum | N/A | $80,800 | N/A |
Destination and Delivery | $1,995 | $1,995 | $0 |
First off, it’s worth noting that the two-row XL STX model has been deleted from the 2025 Ford Expedition lineup, which means that the three-row Active is the new base model, replacing the XLT as well. This change also means that the cheapest 2025 Ford Expedition is now $61,700, quite a bit pricier than the 2024 Expedition XL STX at $55,630, and $2,065 more than the discontinued XLT at $59,635, too. The Platinum is $5,915 more expensive than the outgoing Limited as well, while the Tremor is $9,225 pricier than the Timberline it replaces, and the King Ranch costs $5,085 more than before. Upgrading to the Max costs another $3,000, but the Tremor can’t be spec’d in that longer wheelbase version, as was previously the case with the Timberline.
The entire 2025 Ford Expedition lineup sports fresh styling both up front and in the rear, where one will find a nifty new feature called Ford Split Gate, which functions much like a regular tailgate on a pickup. The top three-quarters of the liftgate raises upward, while the lower portion folds down, and can support up to 500 pounds. The Split Gate also features a seatback as part of the optional Cargo Tailgate Manager, and can transform into a serving table, to boot.
Inside the cabin, the biggest change present in the 2025 Ford Expedition is the addition of a new 24-inch panoramic display that doubles as the instrument cluster and is paired with a 13.2-inch center screen running the fairly new Ford Digital Experience software. Power continues to come from the twin turbocharged 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine, which churns out 400 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque in standard guise, or 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet in the high-output version, which is standard in the Tremor and optional on Platinum models. Production of the redesigned SUV is slated to begin at the Kentucky Truck plant on January 6th, 2025, though as is always the case, that date is subject to change.

With many folks finally cutting back, this will do wonders for sales. Not.
