The 2025 Ford Expedition finally debuted earlier this month after prototype examples spotted testing in public left open lots of speculation about the future of the full-size three row SUV. Now that all the major details have arrived, we have our first photos of the family hauler in the flesh, complete with some up close pictures at its innovative features.
This particular example was one of two 2025 Ford Expedition SUVs featured at the 2024 Texas State Fair. More specifically, it’s a Platinum with Stone Blue paint, and like the rest of the Expedition lineup, it features the biggest addition to the model – the Ford Split Gate. Upon opening, the upper three-quarters operates like a regular liftgate, while the bottom portion folds flat like a pickup’s tailgate. That enables the tailgate to support 500 pounds, good for acting like a seat bottom. The Cargo Tailgate Manager can be used as a seatback too, although it can also be transformed into a table too, as the above pictures demonstrates.
Inside, the 2025 Ford Expedition also introduces some innovative features. The front seatbacks incorporate two USB-C ports that can be utilized for the new Digital Device Holder (not pictured). It can hold a cellphone or tablet.
There’s also the new Flex Powered Console, which can be moved back eight inches for second row passengers, which in turn frees up space for front row occupants.
The 2025 Ford Expedition will also be one of the first Blue Oval vehicles to feature the Ford Digital Experience, which replaces Sync with a software ecosystem centered around Google Play apps. Fully integrated Google Maps is available as well, in addition to wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.
A steering wheel with configurable controls is another first for the SUV.
Like the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus and 2025 Lincoln Navigator, the Expedition also features a panoramic display. The 24-inch screen can be personalized with the user’s favorite apps and serves double duty as a gauge cluster as well, without the new for a head up display.
The 2025 Ford Expedition Platinum will once again be powered by the 3.5L V6 EcoBoost, making 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. The lineup will also feature a Tremor variant for the first time ever. The automaker says the redesigned Expedition will be available in Spring 2025.

Just another overpriced product from a company that has quality control issues every day and it’s just a matter of time before Recall Motors issues a recall on it.
The interior, especially the dashboard, is definitely not to my liking! Exterior looks nice.
Looks more like a Chevy than a Ford .
