2025 Ford F-150 Production Begins Next Month

Coming off a mid-cycle refresh for the 2024 model year, the 2025 Ford F-150 understandably isn’t going to receive too many updates, though The Blue Oval does have a few tweaks in store for its best-selling pickup. While some of those are deletions, others may have prospective customers eager to know when they might start seeing 2025 Ford F-150 models landing on dealer lots – or, in their own driveway, if they plan on ordering one. Now, we know when the first step in that process is slated to begin.

According to sources familiar with the matter, 2025 Ford F-150 production is scheduled to kick off next month, though exact dates will vary based on which plant the light-duty model is built at. Job 1 production of the 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning is currently slated to begin at the Dearborn Truck plant in Michigan on November 12th, and a few weeks later, will commence at the Kansas City Assembly plant in Missouri, on December 9th – though these dates don’t apply to the all-electric F-150 Lightning. Regardless, as is always the case, these dates are subject to change.

As for what differences shoppers can expect to find in the 2025 Ford F-150 compared to the outgoing 2024 model, that list begins with the deletion of the factory-installed SecuriCode keypad. The F-150 becomes just the latest Ford model to ditch this feature, though it’s still available as a dealer-installed option. The 2025 Ford F-150 will also no longer come standard with the factory Connected Navigation feature on the XL and STX trims, which was previously standard across the 2024 F-150 lineup. Additionally, the 2025 Ford F-150 XLT will only offer Connected Navigation on the Mid (302A) and High (303A) equipment groups, though in that case, it does include a one-year trial for the service.

Additionally, the 2025 Ford F-150 has dropped the previously-available Heritage Edition, which debuted back in June of 2022 for the 2023 model year as a bit of a retro throwback, and has also dropped its three-year BlueCruise subscription option. Finally, the 2025 Ford F-150 lineup is ditching a pair of exterior color options – Avalanche and Darkened Bronze Metallic.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
