2025 Ford Ranger Adds New Desert Sand Color: First Look

The 2025 Ford Ranger gets an updated exterior color lineup, gaining three new colors known as Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Marsh Gray, and Desert Sand. Here’s a first look at the final shade on that list, Desert Sand.

Desert Sand is identifiable by paint code VA, and it’s offered on every 2025 Ford Ranger trim, which includes XL, XLT, Lariat, and Raptor. Thankfully, it’s a no-cost color, and it joins the list of seven exterior colors available for the pickup. It is able to be added with both interior colorways offered on the pickup.

All 2025 Ford Ranger exterior color options are as follows (relevant paint codes listed in parentheses):

  • Azure Gray Metallic Tri-Coat (G4)
  • Carbonized Gray Metallic (M7)
  • Oxford White (YZ)
  • Shadow Black (G1)
  • Shelter Green Metallic (DB)
  • Velocity Blue Metallic (E7)
  • Marsh Gray (T9) (New for 2025)
  • Ruby Red Tinted Clearcoat (RR) (New for 2025)
  • Desert Sand (VA) (New for 2025)

Meanwhile, the interior colorway options are as follows:

  • Ebony
  • Sandstone

Finally, the following list represents all available 2025 Ranger trim levels:

  • XL
  • XLT
  • Lariat
  • Raptor

While it gained three new colors, the 2025 Ranger discontinues three colors that were previously available, including Cactus Gray, Hot Pepper Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, and Iconic Silver Metallic.

The 2025 Ford Ranger is relatively unchanged compared to its 2024 model year counterpart. It would perhaps be more shocking if it did gain major changes, considering that the pickup received a complete generational changeover for the 2024 model year. This model broke cover in May 2023 with notable features like revised styling both inside and out, an improved suspension, and plenty more goodies packed within.

As is typical of model year changeovers, the 2025 Ranger is a bit more expensive than its 2024 counterpart, as previously reported by Ford Authority. The base XL trim starts at $32,890, not including destination freight charges, while the range-topping Raptor trim is much more expensive at $55,720. Additionally, the pickup gets a revised keyless entry keypad, which is now a dealer-installed option, along with a substantially altered Chrome Accent Package for owners who want their pickup to have a brighter look outside.
