2025 Ford Ranger Adds Ruby Red Metallic: First Look

The 2025 Ford Ranger gets an updated exterior color lineup, gaining three new colors known as Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Marsh Gray, and Desert Sand. Here’s a first look at Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat.

Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat is identifiable by paint code RR, and it’s offered on the 2025 Ford Ranger XL, XLT, and Lariat trims as a $495 option; it’s not available on the Ford Ranger Raptor. It’s one of seven exterior colors available for the pickup. It can be added in conjunction with both interior colorways.

All 2025 Ford Ranger exterior color options are as follows (relevant paint codes listed in parentheses):

  • Azure Gray Metallic Tri-Coat (G4)
  • Carbonized Gray Metallic (M7)
  • Oxford White (YZ)
  • Shadow Black (G1)
  • Shelter Green Metallic (DB)
  • Velocity Blue Metallic (E7)
  • Desert Sand (VA) (New for 2025)
  • Marsh Gray (T9) (New for 2025)
  • Ruby Red Tinted Clearcoat (RR) (New for 2025)

Meanwhile, the interior colorway options are as follows:

  • Ebony
  • Sandstone

Finally, the following list represents all available 2025 Ranger trim levels:

  • XL
  • XLT
  • Lariat
  • Raptor

While it gained three new colors, the 2025 Ranger leaves three colors behind: Cactus Gray, Hot Pepper Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, and Iconic Silver Metallic.

The 2025 Ford Ranger doesn’t feature any major changes and updates compared to the outgoing 2024 model, which isn’t unexpected. The pickup underwent massive changes for the 2024 model year, which brought about a complete generational shift for the Ranger in North America. It debuted in May 2023 with completely revised styling both inside and out, an improved suspension, and more goodies.

As is typical of model year changeovers, the 2025 Ranger is a bit more expensive than its 2024 counterpart, as previously reported by Ford Authority. The base XL trim starts at $32,890, not including destination freight charges, while the range-topping Raptor trim is much more expensive at $55,720. Additionally, the pickup gets a revised keyless entry keypad and a substantially altered Chrome Package.

  1. Now that’s a red I could go for. Not the screaming reds offered on the Escape and others. But screw the $495.

  2. I love this color was really wanting this color on the Raptor and like always Ford drops the ball. This would have been a great color on the Ranger Raptor instead we get some different sades of primer gray. There should always be a red offered on every Ford performance product. Red has always been the best performance color out there. The Ford person who thought dropping the color red for three new shades of grey needs to find another job and has no taste. Ford has went from great colors to the worst out there. The 2025 harbor gray on the Lincolns is so terrible I do not know anyone who will like that color on a Lincoln. Ford must be letting color blind people choose the colors now days.

    1. I agree 100 % When the Ford Ranger Raptor was released I was looking for a Red one & they were always sold before I got a chance. I might just have to end up looking at the GMC Canyon Denali. I will have to contact a FORD dealership first to see what is going on. I have seen some websites that say you can get the Ford Ranger Raptor in Red for 2025 & others that say that you can not. I would will most likely get the Raptor if I can get it in Red, if not I will get the GMC Canyon Denali in Red. FORD should let you purchase a Ford Ranger Raptor in Red as they offer this color on other Ford trucks.
