2025 Ford Ranger Ditches Three Colors

The 2025 Ford Ranger gains a few new colors for the upcoming model. Buyers in search of an eye-catching red can now choose Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, while those who prefer more understated tones can choose from Desert Sand and Marsh Gray. But those new shades come at the cost of three others. That means Cactus Gray, Hot Pepper Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, and Iconic Silver Metallic are no longer a part of the Ranger color palette.

Cactus Gray (paint code NE) made its first appearance on the Ranger for the 2021 model year. It was offered as a zero-cost option on all trim levels, but was only offered in conjunction with certain configurations for the base XL trim, where it was only available with either the 101A equipment group or STX Appearance Package.

Iconic Silver Metallic (paint code JS) was also offered on the 2021 Ranger for the first time and was offered on every subsequent model year pickup until being discontinued for 2025. Finally, Hot Pepper Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat (paint code EA) first became available on the 2022 Ranger as a $495 option available on all three trims, but like Cactus Gray, it required either the 101A equipment group or STX Appearance Package.

Other changes on the way to the 2025 Ford Ranger include additional updates to its exterior options. The new Chrome Accent Package, which is optional on XLT and Lariat trims, replaces the Chrome Appearance Package that was previously available on the pickup, adding chrome accents like wheel lip moldings, a front grille center bar and surround, and a chrome rear bumper.

Aside from that, though, the 2025 Ford Ranger carries on largely unchanged from the 2024 model, which brought the pickup’s second generation to North America. However, it does gain a dealer-installed keyless entry keypad, and it is a little more expensive than the 2024 model, starting at $32,890, not including destination freight charges.
