2025 Ford Ranger Gets Dealer Installed Keyless Entry Keypad

As many Blue Oval fans are already well aware by now, the automaker has been in the process of eliminating its SecuriCode keyless entry keypad from a number of models over the past few months – replacing that factory-installed piece with one that can be instead ordered as a dealer-installed option. With each passing model year, we continue to see this feature disappear from many vehicles, and the latest is the 2025 Ford Ranger, it seems.

Now that the 2025 Ford Ranger build and price configurator is live, it reveals that the mid-size pickup is the latest of many FoMoCo vehicles to swap out the factory SecuriCode keyless entry keypad for a dealer-installed alternative. This new keypad is available on all trims and configurations within the 2025 Ford Ranger lineup for $225, and is shipped separately from the vehicle, after which a dealer can install it.

Aside from the 2025 Ford Ranger, the list of Blue Oval models that have traded the factory SecuriCode keypad for a dealer-installed unit is quite long – currently including the 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning, the refreshed 2025 Ford Explorer, the updated 2025 Ford Super Duty, and the 2025 Ford F-150, to name just a few.

The current-generation Ford Ranger debuted for the North American market in the 2024 model year, and as such, won’t be receiving too many updates aside from this for the 2025 model year. As Ford Authority previously reported, the 2025 Ford Ranger Raptor is gaining Marsh Gray and Desert Sand as new exterior color options due to customer request. Additionally, the 2025 Ford Ranger is actually slightly cheaper in certain cases – at least, as it pertains to the XLT trim specifically, which has dropped by a grand total of $150 year-over-year. However, the rest of the lineup has gotten ever so slightly more expensive compared to last year. The Lariat and Raptor are $100 pricier than before, while the while the XL gets a more significant bump of $260.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
