Though chrome has largely fallen out of favor with modern day consumers – who are now gravitating toward things like black appearance packages and monochromatic treatments – Ford continues to offer shiny parts and packages on a number of vehicles. This is true of many pickups, specifically, including the Ford Ranger, which has long been offered with a Chrome Appearance Package of its own. However, the 2025 Ford Ranger is now instead being sold with an optional Chrome Accent Package, which is a bit different than the appearance package present on the outgoing 2024 model.
The 2025 Ford Ranger Chrome Accent Package is optional on XLT and Lariat trims and takes the place of the Sport Appearance Package – and also requires the integrated box side step – but adds 18-inch chrome-like PVD wheels, along with chrome wheel lip moldings, a chrome front grille center bar and surround, and a chrome rear bumper.
For 2024, the Chrome Appearance Package offered quite a bit more in the form of chrome-like 18-inch PVD wheels, plus chrome door handles, exhaust tips, fog lamp bezels, a rear bumper, mirror caps (Lariat only), the front grille center bar and surround, tow hooks (on 4×4 models), wheel lip moldings, and running boards. While the old Chrome Appearance Package was a no-cost option, the new Chrome Accent Package retails for $680, so there’s that, too.
In addition to this update, the 2025 Ford Ranger is the latest of many FoMoCo vehicles to swap out the factory SecuriCode keyless entry keypad for a dealer-installed alternative. This new keypad is available on all trims and configurations within the 2025 Ford Ranger lineup for $225, and is shipped separately from the vehicle, after which a dealer can install it. Otherwise, the 2025 Ford Ranger carries over mostly unchanged, save for Ranger Raptor, which is gaining Marsh Gray and Desert Sand as new exterior color options due to customer request. Additionally, the 2025 Ford Ranger is actually slightly cheaper in certain cases, and pricier in others.
