Fresh of undergoing a total redesign for the 2023 model year, the 2025 Ford Super Duty is set to receive a few notable updates, too, though nothing that would constitute a mid-cycle refresh. Rather, The Blue Oval is tweaking its heavy-duty hauler’s trim level lineup, standard engine offerings, configurations, and pricing, all with an eye toward staying competitive in one of the more heated segments in the business. Now, another change has taken place in the 2025 Ford Super Duty lineup – at least, as it pertains to the Lariat trim.
The 2025 Ford Super Duty Lariat now comes equipped with ActiveX synthetic seating material, which is notable given the fact that this trim level was equipped with leather for the 2024 model year. This means that customers who want a leather interior will need to opt for a higher trim level such as the King Ranch and Platinum. The 2025 Ford Super Duty Lariat isn’t the first Blue Oval model to make this switch, however, as we’ve seen FoMoCo also ditch leather for ActiveX in the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning Lariat (based on supply chain issues), the 2025 Ford Escape ST-Line Elite with the Premium Technology Package, or the PHEV model when equipped with the Premium Package, as well as the 2025 F-150 Lightning Flash.
In addition to this change, the 2025 Ford Super Duty Platinum trim has received a few notable updates, including a painted black grille and tailgate appliqué, along with body-color door handles, while inside the cabin, the luxurious hauler has been treated to a new Black Onyx theme with Platinum Blue accents. On top of that, the 2025 Ford Super Duty is also now available with the new Platinum Plus Package, which replaces the Limited trim and adds a unique satin finish grille up front with bright chrome inserts, a Smoked Truffle interior theme with perforated Venetian Leather seating surfaces and French stitching, plus Max Recline seats and a special ownership experience, to boot.
In addition to becoming just the latest FoMoCo model to get rid of the factory SecuriCode keypad, the 2025 Ford Super Duty has also ditched a handful of configurations that include the SuperCab with a 148-inch wheelbase, SuperCab Lariat models, and SuperCab F-350 and F-450 dual rear wheel pickups. In terms of powertrains, the gas 6.8L V8 is now standard equipment on the XL, XLT, and Lariat trims, while the gas 7.3L V8 is standard on the King Ranch and Platinum. Pricing hasn’t changed much, however, save for the Lariat, which received a somewhat substantial boost for 2025.

It also looks like the F450 front fenders are black and not body color. My 2024 F450 with the HO diesel at this point is a real disappointment.
Ford cheaps out again removes leather and add plastic seats way to go bean counters. Who ever at Ford thinks this is great needs to fired before they do Ford in. Between the cost cutting and recalls I do not see how Ford is going to win their customers hearts.
Ford-only guy since 1990. No longer. After delaying placing an order on a 2024 Super Duty Lariat, I was looking forward to seeing what the 25’s would have in store.
With Ford now only offering that BS ActiveVinylX seating, along with their other cost-cutting takeaways, & crazy price increases, I’m leaving the family for Chevy. The 2025 Silverado 3500 LTZ Trail Boss in CC, standard bed with diesel is looking might tasty!!
Please Ford, sack Farley straightaway!
