Among the many aftermarket parts and accessories one can buy for their S650-generation 2024 Ford Mustang, exhaust systems are easily one of the most popular. This makes sense given the fact that aftermarket exhausts can unleash more sound from those pony cars and also generally unlock more power as well, which are two things that Mustang owners are typically interested in. As such, there are a literal boatload of options out there already, and now, 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse owners – specifically -have gained another one.
This new exhaust system upgrade option for the Ford Mustang Dark Horse comes to us from a familiar place – Borla – which is now offering a variety of setups tailored specifically for the range-topping pony car. The Borla exhaust systems come in two specs – S-Type and ATAK, with the former providing a deep V8 tone and the latter delivering maximum volume for those that like it when people can hear them coming. In either case, Borla spend considerable time tuning the sound of each to match its signature profile, as well as the fortified 5.0L V8 Coyote engine present in the Dark Horse.
Borla notes that these exhaust systems don’t produce any drone or resonance inside the cabin either, which can be quite annoying. Both cat-back systems feature three-inch pipes and quad five-inch tips, and the latter parts can be had in chrome, black chrome, or carbon fiber finishes. The Borla exhausts are also fully compatible with the active exhaust system present in the Ford Mustang Dark Horse, and incorporate valves that work with the OEM valve actuators, meaning that owners can still switch modes as desired. Pricing for these new exhaust setups ranges from around $2,600 up to $3,200, depending on type and options.
These new Borla S650 Mustang exhaust systems join an already crowded market, which is full of options from a variety of manufacturers. That list includes axle-back systems from Roush, a few from MagnaFlow, and a handful from Ford Performance itself, to name just a few.
