Ford 5.0L V8 Coyote Power Module With 6-Speed Now Available

As one might expect, the debut of the fourth-generation version of the Ford 5.0L V8 Coyote powerplant has prompted the automaker to release multiple iterations of that same engine in crate form. This has been the case for years now, as the 5.0L V8 Coyote has long been a red-hot commodity among those seeking to bless older vehicles with modern powertrains, as it’s perfectly suited for that purpose – and capable of making tremendous power with the right upgrades, too. Now, the Ford Performance catalog has expanded yet again, this time, to make room for a new fourth-generation 5.0L V8 Coyote power module that comes with a six-speed manual transmission.

Listed in the Ford Performance catalog under part number M-9000-PMCM4X, the new Gen 4X Coyote Manual Power Module is a pretty comprehensive solution for anyone looking to stuff the newest version of that powerplant and an old fashioned row-your-own gearbox into all kinds of vehicles. The kit includes a Gen 4X 5.0L V8 Coyote crate engine, a Tremec six-speed manual gearbox, the complete engine controller and the necessary wiring harness control pack, all for a retail price of $20,500.

The Gen 4X Coyote crate engine is factory-rated to generate 460 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque right out of the box on pump gas, and features 12.0:1 compression, an aluminum block, a Boss 302 alternator kit, a starter and starter index plate, and a tunable control pack, for those that want to add some upgrades and coax more power out of it. The kit also comes with a steel quicktime bellhousing, a roller pilot bearing, clutch fork, throw-out bearing, clutch kit, billet flywheel, and all of the hardware needed for installation.

This is just the latest Gen 4X V8 Coyote offering to be added to the Ford Performance catalog after four different Aluminator engines launched back in March. In April, Ford added a complete power module with the 10-speed automatic transmission – as well as a pair of new Coyote crate engines – and just last month, a pair of control packs for those applications, too.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
