Among the many options one can spec on the sixth-generation Ford Bronco, the heavy-duty modular front bumper has long been one of the most popular. Aside from looking much beefier than the bumpers present on lower-trim models, the modular piece is also nice in that it can easily accommodate various accessories such as brush guards and additional lighting, which is a plus for an off-road focused vehicle such as the Ford Bronco. Now, those that want to add this piece to Bronco models that didn’t get it from the factory can do so, too.
That’s because the Ford Bronco heavy-duty modular front bumper kit has just been added to the Ford Performance catalog under part number M-17757-BM with a price tag of $995. The all-new kit includes the same OEM front bumper, skid plate, and tow hooks that come from the factory on various Ford Bronco models, and has been tested to ensure that it’s the same quality as those pieces – even validated to OEM crash standards, in fact. The kit includes an array of parts such as the bumper shell, end caps, bumperettes, mounting plates, reinforcements, tow hooks, a skid plate, intercooler brackets, and all of the required hardware for installation.
There are a couple of caveats that accompany this new heavy-duty modular front bumper kit, however, including the fact that it isn’t compatible with the front parking sensors or adaptive cruise control. The factory LED lights present in the standard bumper won’t fit this piece either, and installing it requires that a Ford dealer or qualified tech updates the airbag safety system software to ensure proper airbag deployment.
Regardless, this is just the latest of several Ford Bronco parts and accessories that have been added to the list of goodies available for the rugged SUV as of late. That lineup most recently includes the previously hard-to-get molded-in color (MIC) hardtop, a black-painted roof, and a special calibration for the high-performance Bronco Raptor.
