Ford Capri Officially Shipping Out To European Dealers

Following the official debut of the all-new, all-electric Ford Capri back in July, we haven’t heard much about the sporty crossover that’s set to be sold in Europe. In fact, Ford didn’t provide any sort of launch timeline this summer, nor any pricing or additional information regarding when the new Capri might be joining its platform mate, the Ford Explorer EV, at dealerships in that region. However, the Ford Capri is now officially shipping to dealers across Europe, The Blue Oval has announced.

The very first examples of the new Ford Capri have shipped from the Cologne Electric Vehicle Center in Germany, though the crossover is already conjuring up plenty of interest among consumers in Europe – in fact, FoMoCo says that more than 200,000 customers have used the model’s build and price page since its debut months ago. Of that total, 24 percent opted for Vivid Yellow as their exterior color of choice, 55 percent went with the Premium trim (which adds ambient lighting, a 10-speaker B&O sound system, and a hands-free tailgate), and 59 percent chose the single motor, rear-wheel drive variant, which churns out 286 PS (282 horsepower) and delivers up to 627 kilometers (390 miles) of range on the European WLTP cycle.

Along with the optional all-wheel drive variant with 340 PS (335 horsepower) and 592 kilometers of range (368 miles), Ford Capri customers can also choose between a handful of wheel options as well, including 19-, 20-,and 21-inch units. All models get sport seats with integrated headrests that feature heat and massage functions, a sound bar, and a sliding 14.6-inch touchscreen running Sync Move, which enables users to position it perfectly based on their own preference. Behind the screen is a cool “Private Locker” that can keep items stored out of sight, too.

“Our new all-electric Capri is the car the iconic sports coupe was destined to become. Its return has been well worth the wait, and we couldn’t be more excited to see a new generation about to experience the style and swagger that made Capri such a legend,” said Jon Williams, general manager, Ford Blue and Model e, Europe.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  1. Nicely styled! I don’t say this about many SUV’s. I guess Ford has finally called the design team back to work. Maybe it’s because they’re getting lower to the ground, and starting to resemble cars again! Someday soon, if styling keps moving in this direction, I may even consider purchasing one!

  2. The original Ford Capri, aka, “The European Mustang”, was a legendary cult classic of a sleek, light-weight, nimble sporty vehicle that still has a fiercely loyal fanbase and clubs around the world devoted to it.
This dull, blobby generic looking crossover is an insult to all of that.
