Ford CPO Lineup Will Get BlueCruise Free Trial

When new vehicle inventory was hovering near or at record levels throughout the course of the pandemic, Ford responded by creating BlueAdvantage, a certified pre-owned vehicle program that’s designed to offer the next best thing – gently used vehicles with robust warranties. Now that new vehicle inventory levels have returned to normal – and are quite high in some cases – one may assume that certified pre-owned sales wouldn’t be as big of a priority, but now, Ford is offering a free BlueCruise trial as yet another way to entice used shoppers to give them a second look.

According to a dealer bulletin recently seen by CarsDirect, customers that purchase a certified pre-owned BlueAdvantage vehicle will be eligible for a free BlueCruise trial. “In 2025, Ford Blue Advantage customers will be eligible for trials of connected services such as BlueCruise, Connected Navigation, and Premium Connectivity,” the bulletin reads. However, the bulletin is otherwise short on details such as what models may be eligible for this trial, any sort of pricing restrictions, or the length of time this program is set to run. Regardless, it’s a potentially great way for the automaker to drum up revenue with its hyper-profitable BlueCruise feature and expand its user base at the same time.

Ford has been updating BlueCruise on a regular basis since its launch, rolling out version 1.4 in late September, which made some improvements aimed at reducing the amount of time drivers need to keep their hands on the wheel while the feature is activated. Earlier this week, BlueCruise 1.5 was unveiled as well, and that update is centered around the addition of one welcome feature – Automatic Lane Change, which enables BlueCruise to initiate precisely that when the vehicle approaches slower-moving traffic.

Ford has also made some changes to the way users can pay for BlueCruise, adding a one-time purchase option early this month while lowering prices for the feature and making various tweaks to the free trails offered in new models.

  1. Ford has rolled out Jack. No one is getting any Blue Cruise updates. It’s about as close to vaporware as you can come to in the auto industry.

Trust me, free Blue Cruise is no incentive when you find out it is problematic and hasn’t been updated in 2 years and shows no signs of being updated and is under investigation by the NHTSA.

It shouldn’t be free. They should pay you to take it off their hands.

  2. HEY StarLord…. YOU are 100% Correct in EVERYTHING YOU STATED IN YOUR COMMENT! We purchased a 2022 F-150 Brand NEW. (for $88,000.00) I Might ADD??? 😬. And to this DAY 10/23/2024 we haven’t had any Updates to our “ORIGINAL LAUNCH 1.0” Blue cruise??? Nothing, just GARBAGE enhancements that we can’t tell do a DANG THING??? (Except Change our Display Cluster, and Radio Channels)???? Your Last Statement got me Laughing, but it is actually TRUE. We paid $1995.00 Up front in the MSRP of our F-150 for “3” YEARS of Problematic Usage. (Got Pulled over One Time by the CHP) for Weaving😂😂😂, and the guy just Laughed and recommended we turn the Feature OFF and Drive the TRUCK Ourselves. If anyone is Reading these Post’s, Be For warned, you better do some HOMEWORK before you even “Think” of Purchasing one of these “USED VEHICLES”!!!! It most likely has some Gremlins hiding and Lurking within the problematic system!!! And…… They “LOWERED” The Price????? Makes me wanna 😰🤫🤥….. “O” And don’t forget folks….. It’s just a TRIAL??????
