Ford E-Transit Prices Slashed In Australia

Back in May, both the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Ford E-Transit were treated to substantial price cuts in Australia in what was just the latest round of reductions. The E-Transit, specifically, retailed for $104,990 AUD ($71,289 USD) prior to that announcement, though afterward, it instantly became $15,000 ($10,185 USD) cheaper with a new MSRSP of $89,990 ($61,104 USD). However, it seems as if The Blue Oval isn’t done trimming the cost of the all-electric Ford E-Transit either, as the van was just treated to yet another price reduction.

According to Drive, the Ford E-Transit has now been treated to a special “end of the year” type promotion that shaves another $20,000 AUD ($13,580 USD) off its starting price, which is now $69,990 ($47,524 USD). This deal is available until the end of December, though it only applies to 2023.5 Ford E-Transit 420L models in the mid-roof configuration. Regardless, the Ford E-Transit was already the cheapest full-size electric commercial van in Europe, and now, it’s even cheaper than some smaller models, too.

In fact, with this deal, the Ford E-Transit is far cheaper than a pair of its rivals – the LDV eDeliver 9, which starts out at $116,000 AUD ($78,765 USD), as well as the Mercedes-Benz eSprinter at $104,313 ($70,830 USD). It even costs less than the smaller LDV eDeliver7, which touts an MSRP of $73,674 ($50,025 USD), too.

This move serves as a way to clear out existing inventory to make room for the updated 2024 model, which recently launched in the U.S. and Europe. The revised E-Transit sports a larger battery, which touts 89 kWh of usable capacity – compared to the outgoing unit at 68 kWh – improving estimated range from 126 miles up to 159 miles in top spec, which represents an increase of 26 percent for low-roof and 32 percent for high-roof models. Additionally, the 2024 E-Transit delivers faster charging speeds thanks to the presence of new, dual onboard chargers that provide peak speeds of up to 176 kW. That means that the 2024 E-Transit can add up to 67 miles of range in low-roof cargo van configuration in 15 minutes, which is 49 percent quicker than the outgoing model.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  1. The E-transit vans are useless except for hauling boxes of cargo. Up-fitting them with racks and what-have-you cannot be done because you cannot drill into the flooring to secure anything. The EV battery packs are under the floor, and as such, the flooring cannot be compromised in any way. Just look at picture above with the open cargo area. That’s all you can do with it.
