Ford Equator Sport Debuts With Heavily Revised Front End

Back in November 2021, the all-new Ford Equator Sport was unveiled in China as a sporty, tech-laden crossover designed to appeal to younger customers, though it doesn’t share anything in common with the regular Equator, interestingly enough. Sold in other markets as the Territory, the Ford Equator Sport was slated to receive a refresh soon, as Ford Authority reported earlier this year, and now, that’s precisely what has happened.

The revamped Ford Equator Sport has received a bit of a freshening in terms of its exterior appearance, for starters, with a look that’s designed to make it seem more rugged. The front fascia is new, framing a more angular hood and slim lighting elements, while the front fenders are a bit more chiseled as well. Moving backward, we can see a piano-black two-tone roof, new 20-inch wheels, and L-shaped taillights and piano black trim out back. The Ford Equator Sport is available in seven colors, including two new hues – Cactus Gray and Oasis Green, the latter of which was designed especially for this model.

Inside the cabin, one will find horizontal lines designed to make it feel more spacious, while the Ford Equator Sport also features a new Domino Black and Manuka Tan theme that was designed specifically for the crossover. The headrests have been revamped to add more support and comfort, which adds to a variety of luxurious touches including contrast stitching, woodgrain trim, and satin aluminum accents. As for any potential engine updates – including the rumored arrival of a plug-in hybrid variant – Ford hasn’t yet revealed any information in that regard.

“The all-new Ford Equator Sport embodies the Ford brand’s ‘Unleash Fun, Wild at Heart’ philosophy,” the automaker said of the refreshed crossover. “This demonstrates the Ford China Design Center’s deep understanding of the Chinese market and consumer needs. The Equator Sport’s design not only reflects a pursuit of freedom and elegance but also expresses a unique lifestyle in every detail. This ‘resort-like’ five-seat SUV is ideal for both daily city commuting and family trips or outdoor adventures. With its spaciousness, comfortable interior, advanced technology, and more, the all-new Ford Equator Sport offers Chinese families a new, laid-back, and enjoyable driving experience.”

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
