Ford Escape Production Decreased In September 2024

Like pretty much every model in the current Ford and Lincoln portfolio, the Ford Escape suffered a rather large drop in production in the month of July compared to the rest of the year. This happens on an annual basis amid summer shutdowns, so that didn’t come as a huge surprise, which was also the case with a big bounce back in August from that low mark. However, Ford Escape production at the Louisville Assembly plant couldn’t keep that upward trend going in September, it seems.

2023 Ford Escape

Rather, according to FoMoCo’s latest sales report, Ford Escape production last month totaled 18,816 units compared to 22,981 in August – marking a month-over-month decline of 4,165 units or around 18 percent. It’s a stark turnabout after August marked an increase of 11,541 units or just over 100 percent versus July’s total of 11,440 units. Notably, that figure was also the Escape’s highest monthly total in the 2024 calendar year thus far as well, blowing away May’s output of 19,784 units by a notable margin.

Though it was just treated to a refresh for 2023, the Escape is also set to undergo quite a few changes for the 2025 model year, too. In fact, the small crossover is dropping the standard power liftgate for Active and ST-Line trims (it’s now a standalone option), along with Active Park Assist 2.0 from the entire lineup, as well as the standard premium wrapped steering wheel and eight-way power driver’s seat for Active models, plus the spare tire in non-hybrid models.

Additionally, the ST-Line is losing its aluminum foot pedals that were previously standard, while the ST-Line Elite and Platinum are ditching the previously-standard ambient lighting and the ST-Line and ST-Line Select are losing their monochromatic painted bodyside cladding, rocker panels, and bumpers. Finally, rain-sensing wipers are no longer standard on the ST-Line Elite and Platinum trims, too. As far as exterior colors go, Space Silver Metallic has been added as a no-cost option for all trims, though Iconic Silver Metallic and Race Red have also been deleted.

  1. Good thing because dealer lots are full of them and they want absu prices. And word about the ’25s has gotten out. Add back in the decontented features that you can and price is a wash. And scammy.

  2. What does Fors expect. They keep fooling with options packages etc. Just tried to see a 2025 build your own car and still not available just the 2024. When you shop for a car around here no inventory and last time i talked to dealer (18 months ago) it was all about the Bronco. Sorry if i’m willing to lay down 45k or more treat me like a customer.
