As was the case with most Blue Oval models, the Ford Maverick saw its production output at the Hermosillo Assembly plant in Mexico take a huge hit in the month of July, which can be blamed on the Independence Day holiday and planned summer shutdowns. However, also like its counterparts, Ford Maverick production wound up rebounding in a big way in August, but that upward trend wasn’t just relegated to one month.
Rather, according to FoMoCo’s latest sales report, Ford Maverick production at Hermosillo increased from 15,619 units in August to 16,495 in September, which is a month-over-month gain of 876 units or around 5.6 percent. It’s a much smaller jump than August over July, however, when Ford Maverick production increased from 7,377 units to 14,364, which was a sizable gain of 6,987 units, or nearly 95 percent. Otherwise, it’s been a pretty uneven year in that regard, though total Maverick production through the first nine months of 2024 now totals 135,224 units.
Looking ahead, the 2025 Ford Maverick is set to usher in the compact pickup’s very first refresh after it originally debuted for the 2022 model year. It has received a host of updates, including a revised front fascia, some new exterior colors, and a revamped trim level lineup that has added the Tremor (replacing the old Tremor Off-Road Package) and the sporty Lobo model. The Maverick Hybrid now features a new transmission, while all models can be flat-towed, too.
Inside the cabin, the 2025 Ford Maverick gets a new 13.2-inch infotainment screen and an eight-inch digital instrument cluster as standard across the lineup, most notably, and all-wheel drive is available with the hybrid powertrain for the first time. However, all of these updates come at a cost, as the 2025 Ford Maverick lineup has been treated to a substantial price increase across the board. Regardless, the Maverick is still cheaper – in some cases, by a lot – when compared to its sole competitor, the Hyundai Santa Cruz.
