Back in March 2021, the all-new Ford Ranger Black debuted for South America as a blacked-out, urban-focused model intended to be a stylish yet capable hauler for those that don’t often venture off the pavement, and it proved to be incredibly popular. The next-generation Ford Ranger Black debuted for Argentina this past August, and a few weeks later, we learned that it would also be sold in Brazil. Now, the new Ford Ranger Black has officially debuted in that South American country, giving customers there another stylish option in terms of mid-size pickups.
The Ford Ranger Black is now officially on sale in Brazil, sporting a monochromatic black appearance on the exterior. It also features a Bolder Gray finish on the side mirrors, rear bumper, and “San Antonio” bar, as well as its 18-inch wheels, which are wrapped with 255/65R all-terrain tires. Inside the cabin, there are even more dark finishes to be found, coupled with dark gray appliqués for the instrument panel.
In terms of power, the Ford Ranger Black is available with one option – the turbocharged 2.0L Panther diesel, which is rated to produce 170 horsepower and 405 Nm (299 pound-feet) of torque. It’s mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox driving the rear wheels only, which is notable given the fact that the Ranger Black is offered in four-wheel drive in Argentina. Regardless, it’s a value proposition with a starting price of R$219,990 ($39,799 USD), and the first 100 Brazilian Ford Ranger Black buyers will score a free bed protector and and an “electric maritime hood,” to boot.
“The Ranger Black was made for the customer who wants a real, powerful and robust pickup truck, with the sophistication of a luxury vehicle for use in the city,” said Dennis Rossini, Ford’s Marketing Manager. “It is unique in style, motorization, equipment and arrives with an aggressive price positioning to conquer a prominent place in this segment.”
