The Ford F-Series lineup – which consists of the Ford F-150 and Ford Super Duty – has long been a favorite not only among truck shoppers, but also, thieves. Both of these pickups continue to rank among the most stolen vehicles in the U.S. year after year, but that isn’t the only problem facing owners. Rather, thieves are also stealing individual parts like tailgates and taillights from those same models, which makes sense given how incredibly technical – and expensive – those pieces have become in recent years. However, Ford Super Duty owners will soon have away to help prevent their pricey taillights from being stolen.
That solution comes to us from Omaha Bravo Designs, a company that has created what it calls the AllGuard kit, which actually includes a trio of parts – the HoodGuard, TailGuard and LightGuard. Each is designed to prevent specific parts from being stolen from 2017-2022 Ford Super Duty pickups, including the tailgate, taillights, and hood. Customers can choose from either a raw or textured black powder coat finish for the TailGuard, though the HoodGuard only comes in matte black, and the TailGuard comes in a textured black powder coated finish only.
These parts help prevent theft in some simple yet seemingly effective ways. The Torx bolt heads that hold the taillights in place are covered up, slowing down the process of removing them, as that piece also utilizes security fasteners. Exposed tailgate Torx bolts are also covered up, and the hood latch gets an upgrade that makes it harder for thieves to pop that, too. These parts can all be purchased separately – at a cost of $35 for the HoodGuard, $65 for the TailGuard, and $95 (and up) for the LIghtGuard, or as a complete AllGuard set for $180, though that latter offering won’t begin shipping until late November.
Regardless, this seems like a pretty cheap way to prevent the theft of some expensive parts – Ford Super Duty taillights can cost anywhere from $500-$2,700 each to replace, and tailgates start out at $2,200, without any sort of tech built-in. Given how common these problems are right now – Ford even published a patent for a parts theft detection system recently – that makes it seem like a real no-brainer for owners.

It’s Fords CRAP design so they should pay for these kits! Have they fixed the EASY to break in door handles yet? NOPE! I already have my taillights protected as well as the tailgate. Still need the door handle fix. This should NOT however, come out of OUR pockets! We buy an $80k truck and they can’t help protect it?
