As it does every year around this time, Apple hosted a special event last month to announce the arrival of the iPhone 16, along with the all-new Apple Watch Series 10, AirPods 4, AirPods Pro 2, and updated versions of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and AirPods Max. In recent months, we’ve seen more and more integration between Apple products and the FordPass app, with the latter recently being integrated into the iPhone’s Control Center, and that was once again the case as FordPass was used as an example of how users can lock or unlock a vehicle more easily using the company’s software at last month’s reveal. Now, a new FordPass iOS update makes it easier to view vehicle health, too.
As part of a brand new FordPass iOS update that just launched this week, the FordPass iOS app now allows customers to view key vehicle health details at a glance, as this feature has been relocated under Service. This puts information such as tire pressure, oil life, active alerts, diesel exhaust fluid levels, and odometer readings on one screen, making it easier to check in on those things. Additionally, those that own a Ford plug-in hybrid model can control their home charger settings from the Energy tab as part of this update, too.
Back in May, the FordPass 5.0 update also became available, which is designed to make the app easier to use and more efficient, while also giving owners more control via their smartphones or even Apple Watches. This full redesign reportedly speeds up the app and makes it less prone to crashing or experiencing other errors, to boot. On top of that, Ford has added one tap vehicle controls, quicker access to key features, an enhanced charge management function for EVs, smart watch updates, and a remote climate control feature specifically for Ford F-150 Lightning owners.
Recent updates to FordPass have paid off in terms of critical acclaim, at least, as the app ranked in the top five in J.D. Power’s 2023 U.S. OEM EV App Benchmark Study, as well as above average in the same organization’s 2023 U.S. OEM App Report and third in the 2024 version of the latter.

I’ve been a beta tester of the Fordpass app for a wile now and have been frustrated that the test version seems to be a watered down version of the consumer version. It’s been lacking in functionality and it appears Ford has been throttling back it’s capabilities. One in particular is the trailer light test. It has disappeared. Navigating to find various utilities has become even harder than it already was. I’m not impressed. But – I don’t know what the consumer app looks like since I’m on the Beta.
ALL OF THE ABOVE IS TRUE AND THEN SOME. THE CONSUMER APP TOTALLY SUCKS! AND PERSONALLY I COULD CARE “LESS” ABOUT THE MACH “E” AND THE LIGHTNING!!!! WE OWN A 2022 F-150 LARIAT THAT COST US $88,000.00 AND WE CAN’T EVEN GET A BLUE CRUISE UPDATE AND ARE RUNNING THE LAUNCH SOFTWARE 1.0????? I CALLED EVERYONE AT FORD AND IT’S ABSOLUTELY “USELESS”!! NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING, AND I MEAN “NO ONE”!!! AND WE CAN’T AFFORD A NEW I PHONE EVERY TIME ONE’S INTRODUCED SO FORGET ABOUT ALL THIS GARBAGE MUMBO JUMBO CRAP! EVERY TIME THEY UPDATE THE FORD PASS APP SOMETHING IS REMOVED OR IT’S MORE DIFFICULT TO USE OR IT’S BEEN BURIED SO DEEP WE JUST GIVE UP TRYING TO FIND WHATEVER WE WERE LOOKING FOR. IT’S A J O K E TO SAY THE LEAST, AND RATED IN THE TOP 5 OF WHOM, WHY DON’T YOU LIST THE OTHER 4 THAT ARE SO MUCH BETTER????? SO WE CAN HAVE AN IDEA OF WHAT VENDER TO SWITCH OVER TO??? FORD DON’T SEEM TO CARE IN THE LEAST BIT!!
Ford Pass does not work on any Escpae hybrid models . The vehicles are always in battery saver mode and the Ford Pass can only be used when the vehicle is turned on , which is the only time you don’t need it .
Ford is totally worthless, as a salaried retiree, I am ordering a 2025 Chevy Trailblazer, plus Chevy also offer some cool exterior products , cactus Green and marina blue . All Boring poor quality Fords only offer bland dark colors. If poeple would wake up and vote to eliminate the Ford family Class B shares, where they own 3 % of the shares but have 40% of the vote, we could fire the executives and sell the company to someone who knows what they are doing. Can’t see Ford being In business for more than 10-15 years until they go out of business since at that time they will have eliminated all products to solve their quality problems 🤣🤣🤣
You want latest Blue Cruise? Just buy a new truck, problem solved.
