Lego 2022 Ford GT Part Of Target Price Reduction Plan

Over the past few years, soaring inflation has left an indelible mark on the finances of pretty much every consumer in the U.S., which isn’t exactly ideal. Coupled with rising interest rates, this phenomenon has made it significantly more expensive to finance or lease a new or used vehicle, leaving a lot of folks underwater as average transaction pricing has cooled through much of 2024 – at least, for some brands. Now, along with the return of incentives on new vehicles, quite a few retailers are lowering prices ahead of the holiday season in an effort to spur sales – a list that now includes the Lego Technic 2022 Ford GT, it seems.

Target has announced that the Lego 2022 Ford GT model is one of around 2,000 items that it’s lowering prices on, a list that includes everything from holiday decorations to essential items to toys, board games, beauty products, bath towels, snacks, beverages, frozen vegetables, cookies, ice cream, toilet paper, cough and cold medicine. Back in May, the big box retailer slashed the prices of another 8,000 items, though Blue Oval fans who appreciate a good collectible will be happy to know that the latest round of cuts includes the Lego Technic 2022 Ford GT Car Model Set – which formerly retailed for $119.99, but will now cost $95.99.

The Lego Technic 2022 Ford GT originally debuted in January 2023 and is designed for adults from the ages of 18 and up. The kit consists of 1,466 pieces, though the result of the effort required to put it together is a pretty amazingly detailed piece. The twin-turbocharged Ford 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine underhood – or at least the brick version of that powerplant – features moving pistons, which pairs nicely with an independent rear suspension and front-axle steering and rear differential for an added dose of realness.

This Ford GT model also features doors and a hood that open and close, an adjustable rear spoiler, and various other cool details, all in a 1:12 scale model that measures 3.5 inches high, 15 inches long, and 7 inches wide. Luckily for those of us that aren’t good at putting complex things together, this particular Lego kit can be assembled using the Builder app, which provides step-by-step instructions with 3D modeling. It may not necessarily be something that folks have to have, but anyone that’s been eyeing this particular kit will be happy to know that they can save a few bucks on it right now, regardless.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
