Lincoln Nautilus Named MotorTrend’s 2025 SUV Of The Year

As Ford Authority reported just yesterday, the all-new 2024 Lincoln Nautilus was one of 10 models vying for 2025 MotorTrend SUV of the Year, along with the Chevy Equinox, GMC Hummer EV SUV, Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia EV9, Lexus GX, Mercedes-Benz G-Class, Rivian R1S, Toyota Crown Signia, and Toyota Land Cruiser. Given the fact that the new Lincoln Nautilus has already racked up quite a few awards and has endeared itself to customers and critics alike, it seemed to have a pretty good chance of bringing home that title, and now, that’s precisely what has happened.

MotorTrend has indeed bestowed 2025 SUV of the Year status on the new Lincoln Nautilus, adding to a list of accolades that already includes being a semifinalist for 2025 North American Utility of the Year, a spot on the latest Wards 10Best Interiors list, and ranking as one of the 20 hottest brands of the moment by AdAge. The luxurious model’s exterior styling, abundance of driver assist features, interior comfort, and user-friendly, in-vehicle digital experience system helped it stand out from the crowd as it aced MT‘s six main criteria for this honor – safety, efficiency, value, advancement in design, engineering excellence, and performance of intended function.

“The right SUV is the perfect combination of style, comfort, and first-class driving experience – and the Nautilus delivers on every front. Each occupant, including backseat passengers, feels valued,” said Ed Loh, MotorTrend Group’s Head of Editorial. “The Lincoln Nautilus Hybrid also combines a compelling luxury experience mixed with uncompromised fuel efficiency, all at a competitive price.”

“The all-new Nautilus has been an absolute game changer for the Lincoln brand,” said Dianne Craig, president, Lincoln. “Not only does the Nautilus reimagine the cabin experience for our clients, it also takes our sanctuary to the next level with new connected experiences. This recognition from MotorTrend shows how we are delivering differentiated products for our clients and validates the transformative journey that the Lincoln brand is on.”

  1. Surprising. And they pick one made in China. Their credibility has fallen so far, so fast.

    1. There’s zero chance that there wasn’t a CCP payday or threat involved here.

Shame that MotorTrend is a garbage shill mag now.

  2. Dropped the powerful 335 HP V6 and moved production from North America to China. What a show-stopper! Too bad, Lincoln. I thought you had gotten your program on-track.

  3. Consumer Reports’ recent issue admires the fit and finish and mileage, etc., but finds a number of negatives. Handling ain’t so great, the funky steering wheel gains no love with its odd shape and lack of buttons with ID’s, the button shifters remain much disliked, and as with previous models (and current numerous other brands) the controls overall were found too complex or confusing.
