The all-new, fully redesigned Lincoln Nautilus just debuted for the 2024 model year, representing what is a truly comprehensive makeover by anyone’s standards. However, as is typically the case in the automotive world, it probably won’t be long before the luxurious crossover receives its next mid-cycle refresh. According to a recent report, we may not have to wait much longer at all to see that happen, too.
According to Automotive News, the Lincoln Nautilus is currently slated to undergo a mid-cycle refresh in 2026, which seems rather sudden, but the report notes that Lincoln intends to ride the wave of success it has enjoyed with the revamped model. “Officials have said they want Lincoln to be more competitive in the midsize crossover segment, which represents over 40 percent of luxury vehicle sales,” the report notes, which would help explain why FoMoCo wants to keep the Nautilus fresh and give it some notable updates in just the third model year for the redesigned crossover.
Regardless, deliveries of the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus just began this past January after production shifted from the Oakville Assembly plant in Canada to the Changan Ford Hangzhou Assembly plant in China. It’s worth noting that U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo recently revealed proposed rules that would impose new restrictions on vehicles imported from China and sold in the U.S., as well as software that stems from that country – which could result in a total ban for certain models, including the Lincoln Nautilus, though as of right now, none of this has become law.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Lincoln Nautilus will carry on with just a few changes. The Premiere trim no longer comes standard with a spare tire, which has been replaced with a standard tire mobility kit, though the spare tire is still available as a $250 option. Lincoln also deleted the Reserve I (201A equipment group) for the 2025 model year in an effort to reduce complexity, which resulted in some pricing revisions, too. 2025 Lincoln Nautilus production began back on on August 12th, 2024, right after production of the 2024 model ended on August 9th, 2024, as Ford Authority previously reported.
Comment
So no hint that Ford accepts their error and returns Nautilus production to Canada or the US.
