Ryan Blaney, driver of the No. 12 NASCAR Ford Mustang Dark Horse, has been on a roll lately. He salvaged a fourth-place finish at Kansas Speedway last weekend, as as each Playoff race passes, he solidifies his position as the favorite to win his second title in a row. That makes him a safe bet to win the overall championship, but don’t forget the other Blue Oval drivers in the hunt as well.
The latest championship odds from NASCAR.com have Blaney on top of the NASCAR Ford stable with 7-1 odds of winning the 2024 Playoffs. That makes him not only the best bet in The Blue Oval’s fold, but one of the best in the entire field, ranking him right on par with Chevy driver William Byron and tailing only Kyle Larson, Christopher Bell, and Tyler Reddick.
Joey Logano is next. The driver of the No. 22 Mustang is still a pretty good bet, but a string of mediocre finishes have put a damper on his chances to win the title. He’s favored at 11-1 odds of winning his third Cup Series title this season.
Austin Cindric, meanwhile, is a longshot in the field. He has 65-1 odds of putting the No. 2 Mustang in Victory Lane for the overall title and is in danger of being eliminated over the next few weeks, but that won’t stop him from trying.
Finally, the longest shot in the Playoff field is Chase Briscoe, who has 80-1 odds of winning the title. His No. 14 Mustang was a surprise entry into the Playoffs when he won at Darlington, but he’s been a longshot since clinching his berth. While he could win it all, it will be a bit of a shock if he does. Moreover, his team, Stewart-Haas Racing, is in the twilight of its Cup Series efforts, but they’ve previously stated that they’ll fight right down to the wire to try and make it happen.
The next Playoff race is Talladega, which is scheduled for Sunday, October 6th, 2024.
