New Ford Performance Keychain Uses Carbon Fiber

In recent years, carbon fiber has become more and more common in new vehicles, and for good reason. Not only does carbon fiber look good, but it’s also lightweight, making it suitable for everything from automotive trim pieces on the outside and the interior, as well as a material that’s great for things like wheels – which helps reduce rotating mass and improve performance in more ways than one. Now, however, Ford Performance has released a different kind of carbon fiber part that doesn’t exactly live on or in a vehicle.

Rather, that new piece is a Ford Performance carbon fiber keychain, which is now available in the automaker’s catalog under part number M-1800-FP with a retail price of $29. As one might have gathered by the name, this Ford Performance carbon fiber keychain is made from that particular material – plus stainless steel – and features a laser-etched “Ford Performance” logo on the brushed stainless steel front portion to go along with the exposed carbon fiber backing.

If nothing else, this Ford Performance carbon fiber keychain is a nifty looking piece that gives owners a nice way to show off their love for The Blue Oval, particularly if they own a vehicle that also sports matching carbon fiber bits and pieces. Those are pretty easy to find these days, as FP previously released a full-blown carbon fiber appearance kit for the 2022-2024 Ford Bronco Raptor, which includes a carbon fiber hood vent, fender vents, fender flare set, and tailgate panel in either a matte or gloss finish.

2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse Carbon Fiber Wheels

The Ford F-150 Raptor also recently received its own carbon fiber appearance kit, which consists of a carbon fiber hood vent and trim, fender vents, and tailgate panel, all in either a matte or gloss finish as well. Then there’s the 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse, which can be optioned with carbon fiber wheels from the factory, though they’re only available as part of the optional handling package – for an additional $8,495 on top of the package’s cost of $4,500.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
