A little over one year ago, Steeda unveiled what it calls “Silver Bullet 2.0,” which is a developmental test car based on the then-brand new 2024 Ford Mustang GT. That build is a follow up to the original Silver Bullet, an S550 model pony car that previously claimed the record for the fastest naturally-aspirated 2018+ Mustang on the planet after ripping off a 9.787-second pass at 141.22 miles-per-hour. Now, the newest version of that drag strip-focused Ford Mustang has set a record of its own.
Steeda has announced that its newer Ford Mustang known as Silver Bullet 2.0 has claimed the world record for being the fastest naturally-aspirated 2024 model year GT on the planet after recording a 10.758 second quarter-mile time. This record-setting pass was completed on pump gas at 1,300 density altitude (DA) and a temperature of 77 degrees, and comes after months of testing and evaluations completed over the course of the summer. Interestingly, this particular pass was the car’s first in six months, too.
The 2024 Ford Mustang Silver Bullet 2.0 features a variety of goodies from Steeda’s catalog, including the company’s ProFlow Cold-Air Intake, which adds around 13 horsepower and 11 pound-feet of torque more than the competition – plus ported heads from Airflow Solutions, Kooks two-inch long-tube headers, and a variety of suspension upgrades. In stock form, the same car recorded a best quarter-mile pass of 12.56-seconds, followed by an 11.22-second pass with a few mods added to the mix, which have since changed dramatically.
“We’ve been hard at work finding the right combination of intake, exhaust, and hardware upgrades throughout the summer,” said Scott Boda, Director of Manufacturing & Drag Racing Program at Steeda. “The results speak for themselves, and we’re proud to come on out after six months and go almost two tenths faster and become the fastest 2024 NA Mustang. This achievement is a testament to the Steeda team’s passion for performance and commitment to excellence.”
