While it debuted amid quite a lot of controversy – understandable given the fact that The Blue Oval originally intended for it to replace the Mustang – the Ford Probe went on to enjoy a successful run for a number of years, and is starting to become collectible today. We’ve seen quite a few Ford Probe models hit the auction block as of late, in fact, and that includes this 1993 GT that surfaced for sale almost exactly one year ago. Now, this same 1993 Ford Probe GT is back up for grabs yet again.
The last time we saw this 1993 Ford Probe GT, it had around 30k miles on the clock, and it wound up selling for $20,250. Now, it has 33k miles and is back up on the block at Bring a Trailer, but looks no worse for wear after spending most of its life with the original owner, at least, until they parted ways with it in 2021. This time around, the seller did perform a paint correction on the car’s silver hue to rectify any problem areas, which has it looking even better than before.
Aside from some wear on the driver’s seat, the same is true of the interior, which has been treated to new foam for both front seats. Otherwise, the gray leather looks to be in nice condition, and it’s joined by a host of amenities such as air conditioning, cruise control, and the factory AM/FM/cassette stereo as well as power windows, door locks, and mirrors. On top of that, a host of recent maintenance has been performed on the original 2.5L V6, which was factory-rated to generate 164 horsepower and 156 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
Aside from this Probe GT, we’ve seen a few nice examples of the sports car surface for sale as of late (sometimes, more than once), too. That includes another 1993 Probe GT with just 7k miles, which hit the auction block this past April and subsequently sold for $18k.
