While it may not seem like it, quite a few vehicles like the Lincoln Mark VIII have been long gone from the automotive world for quite some time at this point – in its case, following the 1998 model year. For quite a while, the Mark series offered customers stylish, luxurious, and comfortable modes of transportation, and as such, they’re quickly becoming sought-after collectibles, too. That certainly pertains to this 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC, which somehow has less than 400 miles on the clock decades after it was sold new.
Up for auction at Bring a Trailer, this Lincoln Mark VIII was originally sold at Art Hill Lincoln-Mercury in Merrillville, Indiana, and after that, it remained in the possession of the original owner in the same state until roughly one year ago. However, it only has 373 miles showing on the odometer, which means that neither that person nor anyone that’s owned it since has driven it very much at all, for reasons unknown. Regardless, the seller does note that it remained in climate controlled storage during the original owner’s tenure, and its White Pearlescent Tri-Coat Metallic paint looks like brand new as a result.
The same goes for the interior, which features perfect Light Graphite leather heated and power-adjustable seats, along with woodgrain trim, automatic climate control, a Homelink universal garage-door opener, driver-side position memory settings, LSC-branded front floor mats, an optional voice-activated cellular phone, an onboard trip computer with a system-check function, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, an eight-speaker JBL sound system, and a trunk-mounted CD changer. Power comes from the Ford 4.6L V8, which was originally rated to produce 290 horsepower and 290 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.
For whatever, reason, we’ve seen quite a few low-mile Lincoln Mark VIII models surface for sale lately – a list that includes another 1998 mile with just 274 miles on the clock, a 1995 model with 22k miles, and a 1997 with 26k miles.
