The life of a SEMA show vehicle is a short but glamorous one, typically, as those custom builds enjoy a few days in the proverbial spotlight – both on the floor of the Las Vegas Convention Center during that aftermarket extravaganza, and sometimes, in features across the web. After that time is up, SEMA show vehicles tend to go in one of a few directions – some are retained by the folks that built them, others are taken apart and perhaps rebuilt, and some are sold to others. In recent months, we’ve seen quite a few former SEMA stars hit the auction block, and that list now includes this 2010 Ford Mustang.
Up for grabs at Hagerty, this 2010 Ford Mustang nicknamed “The Rebellion” is up for auction some years after it was displayed at the 2009 SEMA Show as part of The Blue Oval’s featured pony car corral. On the outside, it features a custom paint job from Joel Stevenson’s Ten Ten Custom Paint in Las Vegas, covering a Street Scene body kit, a Trufiber hood, and a Roush rear spoiler, all of which is complemented by APR carbon-fiber mirrors. The modified Mustang rolls on a set of color-matched Lorenzo wheels and Nitto Invo 225/35ZR20 tires, too.
Inside the cabin, one will find carbon fiber trim, Auto Meter Phantom gauges, and doorsill plates with custom Rebellion logos. The real story lies under the hood, however, where the factory 4.6L V8 has been bored 0.030 over and treated to a Paxton NOVI 2200 H/D centrifugal supercharger, forged internals, an air-to-water intercooler, BBK throttle body, a JBA exhaust with headers, and a tune, which helps it crank out 550 horsepower to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission. Underneath, the suspension has been beefed up with Eibach Pro-Series coil springs, Tokico D-Spec shocks and struts, and Eibach sway bars.
Along with this Ford Mustang, we’ve seen a number of former SEMA stars hit the auction block as of late – a list that includes Cobb Tuning’s 2014 Ford Fiesta ST, a 2023 Ford F-350 Super Duty dubbed “Bronczilla,” Tucci Hot Rods’ 2021 Ford Bronco, a 2020 Mustang GT California Special, and a heavily-modified 1974 Ford Capri.
