The Ford Taurus SHO has been a popular model with enthusiasts since its debut, when it arrived as America’s answer to the growing group of luxurious, performance-focused sedans from places like Europe. The Taurus SHO only got more powerful and capable after it disappeared for a number of years and returned for a third-generation in 2010. While those later Ford Taurus SHO models haven’t quite gained the notoriety among collectors that the originals have, we’re starting to see more and more surface for sale at auction – including this very nice 2011 model.
This 2011 Ford Taurus SHO is currently up for auction at Bring a Trailer with 39k miles on the clock, and it’s in excellent overall condition with just a couple of minor blemishes marring its Sterling Gray Metallic paint. Otherwise, this sedan is a bit of a sleeper for those that don’t know what they’re looking at, as there aren’t many clues as to what’s going on under the hood – just a rear spoiler, dual exhaust tips, and 20-inch five-spoke wheels, really, and not much else.
Inside the cabin, this Ford Taurus SHO is equipped with Charcoal Black leather seats with Umber Miko perforated microsuede inserts, along with dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, a blind-spot monitoring system, rain-sensing windshield wipers, heated outboard rear seats, power-adjustable pedals, heated and ventilated multicontour front seats with driver-side position memory settings, the SYNC touchscreen infotainment system, and a 12-speaker Sony sound system. Power comes from the twin turbocharged 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine, which in this case has been modified with a tune, an Airaid open-element air intake, and a Corsa Performance exhaust.
Along with this rather nice 2011 Ford Taurus SHO, we’ve seen a few other third-generation models out there for sale recently, too – a list that includes a 2010 model with 76k miles, another 2010 with just 300 miles, and a 2016 with 30k miles.
