2024 Ford F-150 Lightning Looks Great In Orange: Photos

The 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning comes in a range of exterior colors, though even the boldest option, Rapid Red, might not feel thrilling enough for some owners of the electric pickup. One Ford Authority reader, Raj, ventured outside the traditional color palette offered on his F-150 Lightning, and opted for a bold, attention-grabbing orange wrap.

Raj said that he’d hoped The Blue Oval would offer orange on the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning, and was disappointed when the color wasn’t part of its exterior color lineup. Instead of holding out for an orange electric pickup, Raj wrapped his with 3M Burnt Orange High Gloss, which certainly stands out from the leagues of F-150 Lightning pickups on the road.

He didn’t stop there, though. As though the bright orange wrap wasn’t enough, he customized his 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning even further with a contrasting 3M Satin Black wrap on both the bumpers and tailgate. It’s also fitted with a VViViD+ Ultimate Dark Smoke lightbar and a Raptor-like grille.

This isn’t the first orange vehicle he’s owned, either – he says its his eighth, and in fact, he traded in a Ford Raptor pickup painted in Code Orange for the electric F-150 Lightning.

Raj argues that Ford should pay attention, as he thinks there’s a market for an F-150 Lightning Raptor variant. We’re inclined to agree with him. The 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning already makes 452 horsepower (up to 580 with the optional Extended-Range battery) and 775 pound-feet of torque. Imagine the sheer amount of power that could be squeezed out of its electric motors under the Raptor banner.

Raj and others might be in luck, though, as it seems as though The Blue Oval is at least toying with the idea of a Raptor-like F-150 Lightning variant. Ford Performance teamed up with RTR to bring the F-150 Lightning Switchgear to life as a demonstrator vehicle. That electric pickup is kitted out with a host of on- and off-road goodies, with an impressive 13.5-inch ride height for off-road applications, along with an aggressive suspension.

  3. Looks like a pumpkin on wheels. Not a good color for a large vehicle. Like those scream-at-you blues that also look awful on big vehicles.
