2025 Ford Expedition Flex Powered Console: Feature Spotlight

The redesigned 2025 Ford Expedition debuted a little over a month ago sporting fresh styling, a split rear liftgate, and a completely revamped interior with a new 24-inch panoramic display that doubles as the instrument cluster. That’s not all the full-size SUV has to offer, though – it gets a handy Flex Powered Console between the front seats. Ford Authority today sheds some light on this unique and innovative feature.

Head to the 22:40 mark in the video below to see the console in action.

Front- and second-row passengers can benefit from the handy console inside the 2025 Ford Expedition. Once the proper button is pressed, the Flex Powered Console slides back approximately eight inches, revealing a hidden compartment that’s large enough for a bag, purse, or other valuables. The console can then be returned to its original position, concealing anything that was placed inside the compartment.

Meanwhile, when the Flex Powered Console is locked in its “open” position, passengers in the second row can access its audio and climate control functions as well as the rearmost cupholders. Regardless of what position the panel is in, front-row passengers can access the various compartments integrated into the console itself.

Other interior highlights for the 2025 Ford Expedition include a completely revamped cockpit with a new 24-inch panoramic display that doubles as the instrument cluster. This screen paired with a 13.2-inch center screen for infotainment duties.

Standout features include the new split liftgate, which improves ease of access to the SUV’s rear, while it also gets the all-new Tremor trim. It is also one of the few models in The Blue Oval’s lineup to retain the factory keyless entry keypad, and it features a revamped exterior color lineup that now includes new hues like Space Silver Metallic.

Production of the 2025 Expedition, which is handled at the Kentucky Truck plant, is scheduled to kick off in early January 2025, as reported by Ford Authority. Pricing starts at $61,700, not including destination freight charges.

  1. Yet another gizmo that no one asked for. I’m sure that power feature will last a long time. Righto…
